6 degrees of Steve Jobs: Round 7 â€“ Maria Sharapova

Steve Jobs enjoys a unique position among technology leaders in that he has strong ties to the entertainment industry as well. Because of these ties, we feel it may be possible to link Steve Jobs to almost every famous person in history (except, oddly enough, Kevin Bacon) through a series of past events. To test this theory (and pass the time on slow news days), we have created the 6 Degrees of Steve game.

Let’s play!

For Round 7, we thought we’d mix up this sausage fest and inject a little estrogen into the game. And what better place to start than with the lovely Maria Sharapova, international tennis star and spokesmodel for almost every major company known to man.

So let’s see if The Almighty Steve has any links to the sports world. Remember, you have to link her to Steve in 6 steps or less. Points awarded for creativity and obscurity.

3. Steve Jobs worked as a Summer employee for HP in his youth

2) Camilla Belle* is the face of Vera Wang’s new fragrance Princess.
3) Vera Wang designed Jessica Simpsons wedding gown.
4) Jessica Simpson dated John Mayer.
5) John Mayer played at Macworld which Steve Jobs gave the Keynote.

* Camilla Belle starred in the Disney Channel movie Rip Girls, Steve Jobs now owns Disney, but this doesn’t prove he is actually linked to Maria Sharapova after 3 degrees.
