Reminder: Send us your crap!

Faithful Macenstein reader Dee sent us yet another article showcasing some of the coolest Mac setups ever, this time from the site Cartridge Save which managed to come up with a whopping 25 pristinely cared for and uber expensive Apple setups worth drolling over. Well, just a reminder that we are running a contest looking for the exact opposite. In our “A Thousand Pictures are Worth a Word” Contest,... Read More

The WSJ needs new Steve Jobs pic

The poor man looks like he was stung by bees for crying out loud. God, it must be frustrating as a formerly chubby public figure to work your butt off losing a bunch of weight only to have publications continue run pictures of you when you were fat. Granted, The Wall Street Journal likes to use artists’ renderings of public figures which must be more expensive than a photo, but I think it’s time to give that artist a ring. If they need to save some dough, maybe... Read More

Why won’t celebrities buy a F*$%ing case for their MacBooks?

digg_url = 'http://digg.com/apple/Why_won_t_celebrities_buy_a_F_ing_case_for_their_MacBooks; OK. This is now getting ridiculous. Why can’t celebrities take proper care of their MacBooks? First Jennifer Aniston, then Heather Graham. OK, they’re just girls, what do they know? (just kidding, ladies!) But now here we have George Clooney and Jude Law both dangerously flailing their Macs around as if they were Michael Jackson with a baby. I mean, what if it should... Read More

Finally! A way for women to get men to grope their breasts.

If you’re a woman who has tried EVERYTHING to get men to stare at, touch, and grope your breasts without success, we have just the thing. Check out ThinkGeek’s “Slide to Unlock” Ladies T-Shirt. We know how hard it is for women to draw men’s attention to their chests, so we applaud ThinkGeek for addressing this sensitive women’s issue. By cleverly disguising your breasts as an iPhone (something men REALLY want to touch) you will have set... Read More

Video proof of Bigfoot er… Psystar’s Open Computer running Mac OS X

Well, here you go. Video proof that the oft-maligned Psystar has made at least 3 computers – at least 1 of which can run Mac OS X Leopard. To rub a little salt in Apple’s wounds, Psystar claims they edited the video using Final Cut on an Open Computer running Leopard. Ouch! Now, if only they can provide video proof of the UPS guy picking up orders, and video proof of customers happily unpacking said computers, we’d be ready to place our order.  Read More

Online driver’s school giving away iTunes – for FREE!

Faithful Macenstein reader Art Vandelay writes: So I was on my Facebook, when I came across across a very bizarre ad in the lower left corner… Now I for one would be very excited to win a copy of iTunes, since Apple charges such an outrageous amount for it! The ad in context is below. And no, I am not actually that fat, or that flexible. Art Vandelay This story is all kinds of wrong. First, should there really be such a thing as an online driving school? And second, yes,... Read More

Deals: Bargains aplenty at Harman/Kardon’s eBay store

If you do not fear the word “refurbished”, there are deals aplenty over at Harmon Kardon’s eBay store. Harman sells a wide range of receivers, speakers, subwoofers, and complete surround sound and multimedia systems under the Harman, JBL, and Infinity brand names, and a ton of these items start at only 99¢. I picked up a pair of JBL Spot speakers for $30 (that’s 70% savings). Above: Many items start as low as 99¢. I had reviewed the Spots last... Read More

Yet somehow you just know Apple’s stock is going to tank…

Well, Apple just posted record profits once again, and you know what that means – Apple’s stock will tank tomorrow for no reason. As an Apple stockholder, I have noticed that nothing brings down Apple’s stock faster than good news. Oh well, see if you can see anything here for Wall Street to bitch about… Apple Revenue Apple predicted $6.8 billion revenue, $.94 per diluted share profit. TheStreet predicted $6.9 billion revenue, $1.07 profit per share Actual... Read More

Apple legal shuts down iPhone clone sellers – is Psystar next?

Redferret reports that Apple’s legal team has been shutting down UK distributors who have been selling Chinese iPhone clones, the most recent of which is the company Digital Playworld. DP’s managing director Simon Rimmer claims Apple “came at me all guns blazing, big bully boy tactics” . Above: video of China’s C-002 HiPhone. Gee, I don’t see what infringement Apple was complaining about… that phone clearly has a removable battery!... Read More
