Redefining “refurbished”
Overstock.com is selling what they call an Apple iMAC G5 Laptop (Refurbished). Not sure whether they refurbished an iMac into a laptop, or a laptop into an iMac, but either way, they went above and beyond what we normally expect when we hear “refurbished”.
The description reads: “Take your technology anywhere with this G5 desktop computer”. Anywhere, eh? Like the chiropractor? They list it at 18.5 lbs.
Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader Kyle for the tip!

I carry my iMac 24″ really everywhere (to record concerts, make presentations, video post production on the go at an event of sort) . Just don’t throw away the box and you’re fine.
They’re stil wrong though, i never used it while keeping it on my lap. The aluminum base is very difficult to be balanced between the two knees – and you will bee to close and destroy your eyes
Whats up with the article links pointing to sites ending alltop.com?
So, is this just a surprise when you open the box? iMac Laptop… nice
I use my iMac similar to a laptop. I carry my MacBook Air with me everywhere. When ever I travel somewhere for more than a couple days, I pack up my iMac in the iLugger and carry it along. Its not that much different than carting a 17 MBPro. I would only really use it when I am stationary and would still have to plug it in all the time.
