Save the “B”’s! New MacBook can’t spell its name
Engadget reader Mark got a bit of a surprise when he opened his new MacBook, or, should we say, MacMook?
Looks like Apple got a good deal on “M”’s. Actually, now that I look at it, it looks like it is even a little more screwed up than it looks at first. They didn’t just replace the “N” with an “M”, they pushed the “N” down as well eliminating the “B” completely. I had actually heard that the “B”’s were in danger, but I hadn’t realized it had gotten this far.

The missing ‘B’ and the “N’ are in the wrong place. If this isn’t a Photoshop job than it’s a production blunder…
Wouldn’t it be MacNook then? Not MacMook, seeing as the “N” is now where the “B” is to be?
I wonder if the Apple Store keeps extra keycaps on hand to let a customer fix this problem without having to resort to leaving the laptop for a few days.
It’d be nice if whoever took this photo would post how Apple resolved the issue. Knowing the way some companies work, they might turn what should be a two minute fix into a multi-day spam without the laptop…
I prefer the aluminum keys of the previous MacBook Pro. The black keys are not an improvement.
The MBP keys are aluminum-colored plastic, actually. I’m a little skeptical of the chicklet keyboard myself, but I haven’t given it a fair trial yet.
This new report was brought to you by the number “7″
apple stores have piles of extra keys. just bring it in and they’ll swap it out. they did it free for me when my cat thrashed my keyboard.
OMG,
he or she should realy stick to that laptop. I heared of misprinted stamps which turned out to be very expensive
If the keyboard is the same as the one on the old MacBook, and the “thin” Apple desktop keyboards, it is by FAR the worst keyboard I have ever used, basically unusable for typing, and is a total show-stopper in terms of buying the computer.
I’m just glad I got the last rev MacBook Pro, before they mandated a crappy keyboard and a glossy screen.
new M acook for the B R.I.P
WRONG, this isn’t even the right key placement, (see first post) I call fake BS. “Photoshopped”
