Yo-Yo Ma forgets the iPhone has no zoom

Photographer David Bergman put together an amazing zoomable 2GB panorama of Obama’s inauguration ceremony that is really worth checking out. Of special note, you can see quite clearly that Yo-Yo Ma, still rocking the 1st gen iPhone, decided to use it to try to take some pictures of the event, and the back of Obama’s head. Review: Booq’s Boa Slimcase M90 laptop bag

When I upgraded from my 13-inch MacBook to my new 15-inch MacBook Pro, I discovered one of the hidden costs buying a larger laptop – namely, the need to buy a larger laptop bag. I put out a call to our faithful readers on Twitter looking for suggestions on good laptop bag manufacturers, and the name Booq came back on quite a few of them, so I decided to give them a try. Booq was nice enough to offer up one of their Booq’s Boa Slimcase M90 laptop bags for review,... Read More

New Mac OS X Trojan Horse found in Pirated iWork ’09 software

Attention cheapskates and software pirates! At least 20,000 people have downloaded a pirated copy of iWork 09 from BitTorrent sites containing a malicious Mac Trojan Horse virus, according to security software maker Intego. Upon installation, the OSX.Trojan.iServices.A Trojan Horse, which stows away inside the cracked iWork 09 package, gains read-write-execute permissions for root, and then allows for a malicious user to connect to the Mac remotely. From Intego: Exploit: OSX.Trojan.iServices.A... Read More

Police force woman to give up her iPod as cab fare

After 20 swipes of 20-year-old Nataie Lenhart’s credit card resulted in 20 “declined” messages, cab driver Mohammed Islam called 911. The responding officers to the “crime” scene (JFK International Airport) then proceeded to come up with one of the more bizarre (if not illegal) solutions to the problem – They forced Lenhart to give the cab driver her $140 Red iPod nano as payment. The fare was only $49, but the officers insisted Natlie surrender... Read More
