Why is the Electric Motor not on the list? So many of the “listed’ items depend upon the presence of an electric motor. Also where is the “transitor’ — without that many of the list would not exist.

Air conditioners are evil and spread diseases like Legionnaire’s Disease and the flue and you never ever get them right. They’re either too hot or too cold and you can’t drive with your arm hanging out the window of your car either because air conditioning doesn’t work then either. Not to mention that it kills the fuel efficiency of your car.

Apparently however there is a lot of things better than sliced bread.

Air Conditioner isn’t number one because we rarely have hot enough weather over here to need them. It is rare to find a house with one fitted. Dentistry isn’t listed for the same reason medicine isn’t, most people don’t consider it an ‘invention’ (also it is free, mostly).

That’s a sad, sad list. I actually feel ashamed to be a part of this previously great country…

It’s things like this that make me want my own blog so I can ridicule 4,000 of my fellow countymen!

I have to question two of them straight off; firstly the shoe was not a great invention, it was pointless… Surely the second shoe was the great invention?
And “Space Travel”? That’s not even an invention! It’s a concept, one that involves hundreds of inventions… All of which are probably more important than make-up and hair straighteners.
