Kickbacks are outs if you catch them
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Paul Shin Devine, “A midlevel Apple manager was arrested Friday and accused of accepting more than $1 million in kickbacks from half a dozen Asian suppliers of iPhone and iPod accessories in a federal indictment unsealed and a separate civil suit.” When I first read that, I thought it said a “medieval ” Apple manager was arrested, which would probably have made a better movie, but this rare taste of Apple espionage... Well this is disappointing
When I first heard someone had made an Optimus Prime iPad Stand, naturally I got pretty excited. However, upon seeing what basically amounts to some guy bending the G1 Optimus Prime toy in half and laying an iPad on it, I have to say this doesn’t even warrant an “E” for Effort. via Tweet Photo Read More
New study shows iPhone users’ vans rock twice as often as Android users’ vans
Well, the big news in the Mac-o-web today seems to be this graph, taken out of this poll, which seems to show that iPhone users have TWICE as much sex as Android users. I of course have my theories on this data, which mainly boil down to owning an Android phone is not impressive to anyone, and owning an iPhone is, similar to the way owning a BMW might appear more impressive than owning a Hyundai. Like it or not, expensive, sexy cars, gadgets, clothes and houses tend to turn... Read More
Microsoft tells us why PCs are better than Macs
Microsoft has launched a new page comparing PCs to Macs, and guess who comes out on top? Let’s see if you can find six misleading statements hidden in Microsoft’s arguments below: (thanks to faithful Macenstein reader Billy for the tip!) Macs can take time to learn. The computer that’s easiest to use is typically the one you already know how to use. While some may say Macs are easy, the reality is that they can come with a learning curve. PCs running Windows... I’m sure it’s just a coincidence
Here’s something odd… As we all know, the iPhone 4 does NOT have a reception issue with its antenna. Yet The New York Times is reporting that Mark Papermaster, that hot shot engineer that Apple wanted so badly to head up their iPhone Hardware Engineering department they had to fight IBM for him, and who coincidentally appears to be the driving force behind the iPhone 4′s “non-issue-having” antenna design, has left Apple. There’s no official... Read More
It’s funny ’cause it’s true
As someone who is trying to get an app made, I find both sides of this conversation to bee eerily accurate. (Flash only, so shut up). Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader Bill for the link! via 9to5 Read More
OK, so is Apple OK with exploitive App Store content or not?
I have a theory that there is ONE guy on the iTunes App Store Submission Approval Team (I call him Larry) who has decided to just say “Screw it” and is stamping “Approved” on all the sexually risque Apps that have been recently slipping back onto the iTunes store. Case in point, My Virtual Girlfriend. Now to be clear, I have no problem with this app or Larry’s decision to approve it, nor do I consider it to be “porn”. But I certainly... Read More
