Things I didn’t mention yet- Bon Jovi, Apple Stock, and Naked Mime Chicks

I’ve been pretty busy lately, mainly trying to beat @marcusmichaels at Tiny Wings (and failing miserably) – so there’s a couple Apple-related things I haven’t gotten a chance to comment on. So let’s fix that. It’s kind of hard to argue with Jon Bon Jesus First up: Jon Bon Jovi says Steve Jobs is “personally responsible for killing the music business”. (link) I won’t argue that the music industry is dead, but Steve has an alibi – he... Read More

Macenstein’s “Mac Chick of the Month” (March 2011): Jax Turyna

photo by Karlton Photo Welcome to Macenstein‘s “Mac Chick of the Month”. Each month we feature a different die-hard, Mac-loving girl who is (almost) as well designed as the Apple products they love. This month we present you with the lovely Jax Turyna, a full time model, student, and of course, a die-hard Mac Chick! Read More  Read More

Latest iPad Parody video has more makeup than Snooki

Move over Nutty Professor II: The Klumps. In fact, keep moving until you get the hell out of my memory entirely. There’s a new latex-clad cross dresser in town, and his name ain’t Eddie Murphy. Actually, I don’t know what it is. I know it isn’t Martin Lawrence either, as he appears to be white. Although he DOES play an African American. And a woman… Confused? Take a look at the new Orabrush video which pays homage to/steals from the latest iPad commercials... Read More

Finally, an unboxing video I can tolerate

If there’s anything I hate more than uboxing videos, it’s… um… well, unboxing stills, I guess. The idea of getting excited watching grainy, underlit shots of a stranger unboxing a gadget I probably wish I had, especially when we’ve seen it for months prior in glorious HD on Apple’s site, is just baffling to me. Still, every once in a while someone puts a little effort into their video, and those rare gems should be rewarded. So here’s... Read More

Blast from the past: Watch the original iPhone Spring ahead for daylight savings time

Wow, it seems like just yesterday I stayed up like an idiot and videoed my 1st gen iPhone “springing ahead” for daylight savings time. Thankfully, I’ve grown to appreciate a full night’s sleep since then, but I will always have this video to remember my wild and crazy youth. Enjoy.  Read More

The New Macbook ‘Fro

Out of all the recent Apple parody videos, this is my new favorite. It’s so ridiculously stupid, and so well done, it completely speaks to me. The “Aluminium” line is perfect. The New MacBook ‘Fro from Skye Leith on Vimeo. I assume there was much discussion as to the name and MacBook Fro must have barely edged out the “MacBook hAir”. Thanks to faithful Macenstien reader Skye for the link!  Read More

Jennifer Aniston + tenuous iPad connection + slow news day equals…

Sure, Jen doesn’t actually touch the iPads in this commercial for Smart Water, but she’s a well documented Mac Chick, and since not much else stupid is going on in the Mac community at the moment, here you go. Thanks to faithful Macenstien reader David for the link! Via Obama PacMan  Read More

GrandPerspective: A colorful (and FREE) way to reclaim hard drive space

Earlier today I Tweeted a pic of what my hard drive looks like through the eyes of GrandPerspective, a free utility that creates a graphical representation of the sizes of the files and folders on your Mac. A couple people asked me what it was, so I figured I’d do a quick post about it. Basically, you tell GP a location to scan on your hard drive (I just chose the whole drive) and it will graphically break down the files into size-relative blocks, showing you which files... Read More
