Apple shuts down M.I.C., once again

Ahh, would you look at what I got in the mail today, a message form M.I.C telling me that Apple has ordered them to stop selling their iHub USB hub. Luckily, it says my order will still be honored, so it would seem I am quickly building quite the collection of “Apple-legal-cease-and-desist” devices from M.I.C, already having ordered and received my banned Steve Jobs action figures.

What I find most interesting about this is obviously M.I.C knows Apple will shut them down with each unsanctioned Apple-branded product they create, yet they do it anyway. I assume what this means is that labor is so cheap in China, and copyright law so unenforceable, that it’s still worth it to them to release a sure-to-be-taken-down Apple related product for only 1 week and still make money.

iHub Apple look alike USB hub

Still, I have two on the way apparently, so obviously people such as myself are part of the problem, and as long as we continue to buy them, M.I.C. will continue to make them. And quite frankly, I can’t WAIT to see their Dancing with the Stars edition Steve Wozniak Doll, if for no other reason than to see if ABC legal is as quick to act as Apple. Oh, and I would LOVE to see the bedazzled Cha Cha outfit Woz would be wearing.

They really didn’t know this would happen? You can’t appropriate Apple’s logo like this.

I haven’t ordered anything from them since last time they screw up my SJ figure order. I find a shop here that makes this kind of figures if you give them a picture. I am thinking about giving them SJ’s photo and make my own SJ figure.

You’re a dork, and so in good company here.

Possibly I’m the one who doesn’t belong with no such desire to own a replica of Jobs.
