Steve Jobs portrait made out of 3,500 Apples
That’s right. Apples. Not Oranges, like you might expect. When he learned of the passing of Steve Jobs, artist Olivier Lefebvre made a last-minute change to his entry in the Quebec Land Art contest and decided to create this tribute to our beloved leader, made entirely out of Apples. The project took him about 50 hours in total to complete, but as you can see, the results were well worth the effort, as this easily ranks in the top four fruit-based Steve Jobs portraits... Watch out “Slide to Unlock Panties makers” – You’re about to get some competition
If there’s one thing Apple is known for, it’s its ability to analyze the problems in an existing product segment and dramatically improve that product via simplification and attention to design. That is why I am so excited to see what improvements Apple makes to the “Slide to Unlock” panties that people have been selling for the past four years now that the United States Patent & Trademark Office has finally granted Apple a patent on the term “Slide... Microsoft knows the “keys” to getting an Apple-sized line at its store opening
And they’re BLACK! See what I did there? No? Well, watch this hilarious video of Microsoft’s latest store opening at University Village, Seattle. Yes, unlike every single Apple Store grand opening – where folks will often camp out overnight simply to be one of the first to cross the glass threshold of the new store and lay out their cold hard cash – it appears not ONE of the thousand or so people lined up at Microsoft’s grand opening had any plans to buy... Awww! She thinks she’s PEOPLE!
Is there anything cuter than little babies playing with iPads? Yes there is. But it’s hard to get bunnies to ride to bicycles, so we’ll take babies with iPads for now. Of course eventually there will be nothing unusual or cute about this at all, as eventually ALL babies will have iPads and be baffled by the non-interactiveness of traditional magazines. Now, as quick to grasp new technology as babies are, it’s somewhat baffling how the PARENTS of those babies... Read More
Flowers outside the Shanghai Apple Store
Faithful Macenstein reader Min Wei writes: “Hi Doc, I was on the bus this morning and read the news about Steve. It is so sad he is gone. I happened to pass the Apple Store at Pudong Shanghai. There are some flowers and his picture in front of the store. Many shoppers stopped and paid their respects before they entered the store. Here are the three photos I took. The last one with the apple store glass tower now looks like a monument just made for Steve Jobs for us to... Read More
Stay Classy: Westboro Baptist Church announces (via iPhone) it will protest Steve Jobs Funeral
I would say it is ironic that the Westboro Baptist Church (of the infamous “God Hates Fags” movement which gained fame protesting outside of the funerals of little girls and fallen soldiers) announced that they will be protesting Steve Jobs’ funeral via an iPhone, but unfortunately, they already beat me to it. Yes, God hates fags, and apparently he also hates Steve Jobs, according to WBC, whose many Twitter accounts have announced that Steve is currently burning... Read More
