Macenstein’s Ultimate DragonVale Breeding Guide

So it appears more than a few of you are looking for tips on breeding various Dragons in DragonVale
(Free/Universal). If you’re not familiar with the game, you can read our review here, but suffice it to say it’s one of those “time burglars” where you raise and cross-breed various dragon-types to create the ultimate Magical Dragon zoo. Ultimately pointless, yet addicting. Unfortunately, some dragons can be hard to get, and though you may TRY to breed a combinations that looks like they should get you a hard-to-get Rainbow or Moon Dragon or such, sometimes it just doesn’t happen. So we decided to put out a list of what we have found to work for each Dragon Type. I currently have a couple of every dragon (my Game Center ID is “Dr Macenstein” if you’d like to check out my dragons) and while many of them can be gotten with different combos, I will tell you only what breeding combinations actually DID work for me. I will warn you that occasionally even the right combination may take up 20 times or even more, but I promise you, these combinations WILL work. Eventually. Also note a couple of these dragons are “seasonal”, and may not be available at the moment no matter what dragons you breed. Finally, I suggest for most hybrids you purchase the Breeding Island (located under “ISLANDS” in the market) as it can increase your odds when attempting to breed a particularly hard to get hybrid. That being said I think I have also bred most of these with the regular breeding cave as well. ALSO, please note: For pretty much every dragon I have found that the order does NOT matter, despite what people say. For instance I got a Plasma with Lightning and Seaweed, and my wife got it with Seaweed and Lightning. So feel free to mix up the order of my suggestions if you’d like. Again, I’m just telling you what worked for me. First up we have the “Elemental Dragons”. These cannot be bred – you have to shell out coins for these – so start saving. On the plus side, these dragons make up the building blocks for all other dragons, so once you have them, you can get the rest (well, ALMOST all the rest).

Looks like all limited time dragons are back. Now I can finally breed the Lunar eclipse again. Need one. So many limited time dragons I’ve missed are back.

Ok, so I used to have dragonvale on my iPod and then i lost it new to technical problems. I now have it on my new devise and I’m forced to start ALL OVER! I was at level 24!! So, I’m looking to have friends again. when I got it on my new android phone it made the log in different. So, I may be wrong because it is very confusing now, but I think my name for dragonvale is now PunkRockPrincess2994. So, plz add me =]. P.S I’m good at giving gems often.

i got an equinox, my 2ed paper ( i was mad when i only got one back in September) 2 love (was trying for leap year and got them) 2 clovers, 2 leap years. and one bloom i have spent about 300 gems so far and love the gift dragon. now i just need an emerald, 2 butterfly, another bloom and 2 sakura and i will have all the limited time one i will just not have any thing to look forward to. so i hope they keep adding a lot of new ones
and i just love the upgraded rainbow , sun and moon. fast money !! and i done need to have 8 habitats used up to show them all.

This limited offering of all dragons is awesome I was on a mission to get them all that I missed …I now have every single dragon except ironwood and gold Olympus……I’m trying to get doubles and egg displays with whatever I can until the 01/02/2013 deadline…but I’m happy I have at least one of all and some 2 or 3 of them …I’m so loving it …I can’t wait to see what they have in store for 2013*** I’ve also noticed while I was checking if I had all the dragons that bluefire, Dodo, malachite, sandstorm, current and plaza iand I guess ironwood too is no longer available in the market….does anyone know why? ….Thanks to the DOC…..and his breeding YOU ARE THE BOMB….I have an open slot for 2 more friends deleted this 2 that only except my gems but never give back game center ID…noelania add me if you gift back gems ALOHA..see u all in 2013
I also have another dragonvale on my android with a gem tree ..i have no friends because I don’t know how to get friends on my phone …..heck… I don’t even know what my user name is on the ..would someone be able to help me with this ? what do you get when you breed blue fire and lichen
Doc… Any suggestions about getting these limited dragons? I have been using the combos over and over, but still get the regular dragons. Do the breeding dragons need to be newer births? I have been using my original dragons. I am really disappointed that I have not been getting the limited ones. Time is ending….
I was on level and suddenly when I went to open the site it said PARK game and it showed a beginner site with one island. I must have clicked the wrong choice because now my level 34 game is gone. Not many days Left to get all the out of season dragons and after 3 weeks of trying I finally had the apocalypse dragon hatching..

I was on level 34 when the site opened in PARK view???? What is park view. Now I have to start all over…how do I get my level 34 game back? We are about out of time for the out of season dragons. After 3 weeks of trying I finally had an apocalypse dragon hatching. HELP!!!
Re-sign into Game Center. It will ask if you want the local game, or the go one. Go with the gc one. This has happened twice to me. I don’t know why, but it just happens every once in a while.
