The Apple Theme Song

“What a feelin’!”

Here’s a little gem guaranteed to make even the biggest Apple fanatic consider buying a Dell. In the early 80’s, Apple used this song as its theme song in some of its corporate meetings. With killer lyrics like “We are Apple! Leading the way! We are Apple! And we’re making a better today! What a feelin’! And we’ve only begun, in believin’ that tomorrow’s much brighter, ’cause Apple is leading the way!” it’s only a matter of time before this gem shows up in the iTunes music store.

UPDATE: A reader has alerted us that there is also a video of this monstrosity. Warning, this is not for the faint of heart.
WE ARE APPLE Video

Also, Apple has apparently been cranking out the tunes for years. ZDNet has a link to more of Apple’s greatest hits. It would appear Apple owned a lot of stock in Casio Keyboards back in the early days…

ANOTHER UPDATE
WOW!
That video was WAY more popular than we thought.
We have been forced to move it to another server now, since we have just used about 5 GB of bandwidth in 24 hours.

If any of you want to help us out by posting mirror links to the video, let us know.

Or, if anyone wants to send us a couple bucks towards purchasing a little extra bandwidth, that would be awesome.

there’s a Paypal link to the right. (might have to scroll down a bit)

It is only $4 a Gig of bandwidth.
Any help would be appreciated.

ANOTHER UPDATE
OK, we moved it and THAT site ran out of bandwidth…
Over 100,000MB so far….
well, third times a charm.
new link, but this is it. When this runs out we gotta pull it.
Please consider offering a mirror site or donating $4 a GB for some extra bandwidth.
Thanks

  8. Great Caesar’s Ghost… among wretched corporate anthems, this is the longest one I’ve ever heard; could Apple be subject to the same laws of success and failure as the rest of us? Not likely to humble the Creative Brahmins of Cupertino, though.

  12. Remarkable similarities, both thematically, harmonically, and in content
with “What a Feeling” from the movie “Flashdance.” Pretty bold indeed!

  20. The song was released (or escaped) shortly before Steve left Apple the first time; roughly around the time that the Apple//c was introduced, or a bit earlier.

  22. And that, my children, is what used to be called a multi-image presentation… 35mm slides, fifteen or twenty projectors, controlled by an AVL or Arion microcontroller.

  36. Guys. Just put the thing on bittorrent and let the net handle the bandwidth. Bittorrent isn’t just a haven for pirates after all.

  38. Might be a good idea.
We try to stay clear of BitTorent though.
hopefully someone else will put it up there.

  45. Who digitized this? Can you trace down who owns the original video tape of this? I’m sure quality could be improved by using better equipment.

  53. $4 a Gig of bandwidth? You’re joking… My current host charges me just $1 for 18.75GB of bandwidth (that’s 5.3 CENTS per GB), and that’s if you consider my dedicated server which I get in the same price to be completely free of charge.

$4 a GB is daylight robbery. You’re paying 75 TIMES what you should be. I suggest you look elsewhere.

  55. Urrgh. This is far, far, far, far, far, far worse than that “Apple Is Breaking Through Song”. I was unlucky enough to hear it in person.
