Welcome to Macenstein’s “Mac Chick of the Month”. Each month we feature a different die-hard, Mac-loving girl who is (almost) as well designed as the Apple products they love. This month we present you with the lovely Elise Frappier, a French-Canadian illustrator that loves her Apple gear!

“I’m currently an illustrator, or more specifically a Photoshop artist,” says Elise. “My objective is to become a matte painter, but I still have a lot of work ahead of me. I love what I do and it fulfills my need to be imaginative and creative. Creativity is a big part of who I am, and I need this one aspect in my life in order to be happy.

“I grew up around Macs, thanks to my father who had a graphic design company. I remember playing “Crystal Quest” on a color screen before anyone even had a computer at home. It has definitely inspired me and defined what I do now. I’m very passionate about everything I do, and I can entertain myself with almost nothing. I am quite the geek in fact; I love computers, games, I play Dungeons & Dragons and watch lots of anime. Just to show how you can’t judge a book by its cover!”

• Occupation: I’m an illustrator for two companies in the architecture and entertaiment industries.
• First Apple product you bought: My one and only, my Titanium G4.
• Favorite Apple Gear: My laptop is pretty much my favorite, but I have to admit I’m a nostalgic: all those moments I’ve spent with my father’s Macs (like the SE 30) during my childhood are very dear to me.
• Favorite non-Apple Gear: It totally is my NES! For some reason, I’ve always stood by the retro graphics and gameplay. I prefer light and fun to life-like graphics and impossible controls. Right now I’m on Dragon Warrior. I love RPGs!
• Favorite TV Shows: Lost hands down, then there’s Heroes, Family Guy, LA Ink, Desperate Housewives and, well… General Hospital. A girl’s gotta have some soap opera in her life, no?
• Favorite Music: Tori Amos, Madonna, Depeche Mode, U2, A-ha, Linkin Park, Kylie Minogue, Regina Spektor, Pussycat Dolls, and the list goes on…
• Favorite Movies: That’s tough because I love so many, but in that list there has to be the “Lord of The Rings” Trilogy, “What Dreams May Come” for the visual beauty, and the “Indiana Jones” movies were so much fun!
• Hobbies: I like to model on my free time, and I do some bodypainting as well whenever I get the chance. I draw, do some more Photoshop (as if work wasn’t enough), consume movies like crazy, and spend precious time with all the precious people around me.
• Pets: My German Shepherd named Zelda (guess who picked the name)

    6. Not to get too geeky here Rowlings (too late) but I believe hit points only apply to strength. Charisma is an ability score.
