Cluttered desktop folders become art
Storing tons of files on your desktop is never a good idea, and Teknograd Mac Support from Norway has come up with an ad campaign that visualizes the feeling of helplessness that a cluttered desktop can cause. Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader John Hawkins for the pics!

Good gosh, I’ve never seen something like this before! I wonder who was the first person to do this? In any case, it’s beautiful!

Whereas I completely agree that these look awesome, and are terribly creative, it also seems as though this guy has a lot of free time on his hands. I cannot help but wonder if he actually did these by hand, or had the help of a script of some sort…
April 14th, 2008 at 4:42 am
try that on windows and explorer.exe will crash like a dead bird
April 14th, 2008 at 5:09 am
this really makes me want to get a mac. i mean look how creative these guys are, and they must be really good at what they do to have so much time on their hands.
April 14th, 2008 at 10:19 am
We have a lot of free time compared to Windows users, don’t have to deal with BSoDs or Virus Scans…

You can also shrink icons and grow em in linux. And i have like 500 folders in my desktop lol. gotta upload pic

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure those patterns are copied directly from the movie Finding Nemo.

If you can be creative with a Mac you can be creative with a PC, Windows or Linux. Hell, you can even use an Amiga if you like. You can also shrink Icons in Linux (Ubuntu, at least).
If you are good at math, its becouse you have learned it, not because you have a fancy pen or a book.

Its not because they use Mac`s its because they are in graphic design school, thats why they are good at what they do.

Anyway, really creative Dr.Macenstein. Good job

Heh, I used to do that until I realized that desktop icons were almost entirely useless and unnecessary.
April 14th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
some ppl have too much time on their hands…still cool though
April 14th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
@Andy
No it won’t. That’s just preposterous. Are you seriously suggesting that resizing icons and positioning them in a non-grid fashion will cause Explorer to crash? I’d be surprised if even Windows 1.0 suffered that sort of problem.
If so, you are a retard, or such a fanbois that you don’t know your arse from your elbow.
April 14th, 2008 at 5:33 pm
@ Scott
I guess you forgot how most Windows OS’s behave. While Windows should be able to un-align from grid and resize, We all know that most people OS’s are corrupted from spyware, so I wouldn’t be surprised if most people’s Windows would crash and give a explorer.exe error

anti-apple-reaction posts. check. rickroll youtube link. check. elitist - you can do that on linux-quote. check. there you have it. this sites been ‘dugg’. sadly that basically sums up every digg users comments on every apple front page story ever posted. i wonder how that ‘i love him but hate how kevin rose uses a MacBook’ inner conflict is working out for them.

@Chimpo
GAHH!!! ive been rickrolled!!!! GARG!!!, and for the art, cool :D, but im a pc guy
April 16th, 2008 at 2:38 am
@Scott
it isnt the fact about how to arrange the icons - it is the mass of icons and I am sure “my” windows pc will crash when I will do that - too many folders on the desktop or what ever. I saw that after unzipping a pakage with a lot of folders inside - all of them went onto the desktop and when I tried to move them all inside a new folder explorer has a really odd behavior and finaly crashed. After a explorer restart I tried it again and another crash happened. Ok, I should perhaps reinstall my windows - thats what windows users do one time a year or often more to make it possible to work on windows. But I better work on my Mac
April 19th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
I’d like to see more colors and different icons mixed in.
