Looks like the days of “Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, B, A, Select, Start” may be over!

One of the best things about game cheats is the usually unlikely series of tasks that must be performed in order to discover them. The iPhone, lacking physical buttons, offers game developers a fun new way to hide these game cheats – namely, the accelerometer. Faithful Macenstein reader MF has discovered what he believes may be the first accelerometer-based game cheat. It is for the game Imagine Poker, and when done properly, it will allow you to start the game on any round yo’d like. Here’s How to do it:

NOTE: This is a “time-based” cheat, as well as an accelerometer-based one. So in order for this cheat to work, the time must be exactly on the quarter hour (for eaxmple, 1:00, 1:15, 1:30, or 1:45)

Step 1: Make sure the iPhone’s time is on the quarter hour as described above. Launch the app.

Step 2: On the opening splash screen, shake the device until you hear a giggle,. This will invoke the “Polaroid Cheat” that lets you start on any round in the game you like.

Step 3: Choose your round. Enjoy!
