6 degrees of Steve Jobs: Round 9 – Turducken
Filed under: 6 degrees of Steve, Games, Humor, Slow News Day

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! As we reflect on the the past year, and look for things to be thankful for, many of you likely are thankful it’s been awhile since we last played 6 Degrees of Steve Jobs our thrilling game where we try to link Steve Jobs to almost every famous person in history (except, oddly enough, Kevin Bacon) through a series of past events. Well, all good things must come to an end, so welcome to Round 9!
Let’s play!
In honor of Thanksgiving, we’d like to see if anyone can link our favorite pescetarian Apple CEO to Turducken, the Thanksgiving treat popularized by the NFL’s John Madden, consisting of a partially de-boned turkey stuffed with a de-boned duck, which itself is stuffed with a small de-boned chicken. Mmmm mmm good.
This is our first attempt to link Steve to a specific food, so we’ll allow some leeway here. Remember, you have to link Steve to Turducken in 6 steps or less. Points awarded for creativity and obscurity.
Good luck, Happy Thanksgiving, and LET’S GO JETS! (14 point underdogs).
6 degrees of Steve Jobs: Round 8 – Britney Spears
Filed under: 6 degrees of Steve, Humor, Slow News Day

Well, it’s Friday, and you know what that means! Another thrilling round of 6 Degrees of Steve game. We created this game under the premise that because of his ties to the entertainment industry, it may be possible to link Steve Jobs to almost every famous person in history (except, oddly enough, Kevin Bacon) through a series of past events.
Let’s play!
Everyone knows Apple’s gear is “hip with the kids”. For Round 8, we thought we’d see if we can link Steve to Mother of the Year and role model for the world’s youth, Miss Britney Spears.
Remember, you have to link her to Steve in 6 steps or less. Points awarded for creativity and obscurity. (And don’t think you can just say they both have great hair cuts!).
Good luck!
6 degrees of Steve Jobs: Round 7 – Maria Sharapova
Filed under: 6 degrees of Steve, Games, Humor, Slow News Day

Steve Jobs enjoys a unique position among technology leaders in that he has strong ties to the entertainment industry as well. Because of these ties, we feel it may be possible to link Steve Jobs to almost every famous person in history (except, oddly enough, Kevin Bacon) through a series of past events. To test this theory (and pass the time on slow news days), we have created the 6 Degrees of Steve game.
Let’s play!
For Round 7, we thought we’d mix up this sausage fest and inject a little estrogen into the game. And what better place to start than with the lovely Maria Sharapova, international tennis star and spokesmodel for almost every major company known to man.
So let’s see if The Almighty Steve has any links to the sports world. Remember, you have to link her to Steve in 6 steps or less. Points awarded for creativity and obscurity.
Good luck!

Alright, Round 6 both stretches the definition of celebrity and dates the good Doctor a bit.
Can you link Steve Jobs to Cousin Oliver from The Brady Bunch?
For those that do not remember Cousin Oliver, he is the Scrappy-Doo of The Brady Bunch. For those of you who do not remember Scrappy-Doo, I envy you, and suggest you do not look him up.
Remember, you have to do it in 6 steps or less. Points awarded for creativity and obscurity (and somehow I think the obscurity part won’t be a problem).
Good luck!

Alright, Round 5 is our first attempt to link Steve Jobs to a fictional character – none other that The Simpson’s “Ralph ‘ I Bent my Wookie‘ Wiggum“.
Remember, you have to do it in 6 steps or less. Points awarded for creativity and obscurity.
Good luck!

Alright, Round 4 is going to be tough ( I hope). Can anyone link the world’s most lovable CEO (that would be Jobs) to the most hated man in the world – Osama Bin Laden?
(Well, most hated in the US, anyway).
Remember, you have to do it in 6 steps or less. Points awarded for creativity and obscurity.
Good luck!
6 degrees of Steve Jobs: Round 3 – John F. Kennedy

Man, Apple better release a new MacBook or something soon. This dearth of Mac-news is killing me. In order to maintain my sanity, I have been counting how many times I can dribble this basketball in an hour, and then I try to break that record. But for those of you without basketballs to dribble, we have created the “6 degrees of Steve” game to help get you through this lull.
For round 3 of the tournament, we have decided to go political on your asses, and we are throwing out the name of none other than the 35th president of the US of A. You know who I’m talkin’ ’bout, people! Give it up for Mr. John… F… Kennedy!
(Ok, maybe this basketball isn’t working after all).
So, can you link Steve Jobs to JFK in 6 steps or less? (without using the film JFK as a step?).
Good luck!
6 degrees of Steve Jobs: Round 2 – Kato Kaelin
Filed under: 6 degrees of Steve, Games, Humor, Slow News Day

Ok, Round 1 was actually pretty successful, with some fairly creative solutions. Since things are still looking a bit bleak in the way of Mac news today, let’s bring on Round 2 of our new feature “6 Degrees of Steve“.
This round features everyone’s favorite non-Ito OJ trial celebrity (from the first OJ trial, that is), Kato Kaelin. Anyone out there have the ability to link him to the almighty Steve in 6 steps or less?
Good luck!
6 degrees of Steve Jobs: Round 1 – Bill Cosby
Filed under: 6 degrees of Steve, Games, Humor, Slow News Day

Today being a slow news day, we thought we’d introduce a new feature here and see how it plays out. Many of you are familiar with the party game “6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon” (well, those of you who have been to really lame parties are, anyway).
The point of the game is to try to link Kevin Bacon to another star in 6 steps or less, using their filmographies. We’d like to try something similar with Steve Jobs. Of course, since Steve isn’t an actor, the links may have to be a bit more tenuous and work related.
So, for instance, to link Steve Jobs to Kevin Bacon, you could go:
1) Steve Jobs founded Apple with Steve Wozniak
2) Steve Wozniak is (shudder) dating Kathy Griffin
3) Kathy Griffin was in the film Four Rooms with Marisa Tomei
4) Marisa Tomei was in the film Loverboy with Kevin Bacon.
There you go, four steps. Not bad. At least something good will come out of Woz’s relationship with Griffin (it will make this game a whole lot easier). Of course, the Pixar route is also a possibility, but we’ll give extra points to those who can do it without using Pixar or Griffin.
Round 1
The first name I am going to throw out there is Bill Cosby. Can you link Steve Jobs to Bill Cosby in 6 steps or less? Fewest Steps wins. Good luck!
