I don’t know, call me skeptical, but…

how to shit money to get an iPhone
Hopefully there’s a follow up book on how to WASH that money…

Author Dottie Randazzo’s new book How to Shit Money to Get an iPhone sounds interesting enough, however, I would imagine that depending on whether or not you are a current, under-contract AT&T customer, you might have to shit obscenely unhealthy amounts of money to get that iPhone. Hopefully there’s a “consult a physician“-type health warning somewhere on the back.

Rickrolling iPhone Jailbreakers

Jailbreaking sometimes has a charming, Forrest Gump-like “You never know what you’re gonna get” kind of vibe going on when installing apps. Will it indeed be sexy girls? A virus? Rick Astley? That’s probably the best thing about jailbreaking – you never know!

Hmmm… sounds like the Mrs. is not a Rick Astley fan…

Well, I don’t really see the problem here. I mean, who wouldn’t want a Rick Astley video constantly playing behind all their icons? Someone without a soul, THAT’S who.

Free Mimobot of the Week: Clone Captain Rex!

We’ve once again teamed up with our good friends over at Mimoco to bring you a feature we know everyone loves - The Free MIMOBOT of the week contest! In celebration of the release of Mimoco’s Series 4 Star Wars Mimobots, each week we’ll be offering you a chance to win a different 2 GB MIMOBOT from the series.

Dude! it’s Boba-Fett’s dad! … sort of…

When you say the word “clone” to longtime Mac users, it often brings up nostalgic, beige memories of Radius or Umax, but to a Star Wars geek, it means something else entirely. While the three recent prequels did little to showcase the awesomeness of the clones, the Clone Wars TV show on Cartoon network has let us see that not all clones are created equal, and perhaps the most awesome of all clones is Clone Captain Rex, the leader of the clone troops.

Yes, this week we are giving away a super cool Clone Captain Rex (or CC-7567, to his clone brothers) mimobot. Loyal, brave – the perfect soldier to assign the duty of transferring your files via USB. Plus he kinda looks like Boba Fett.

To Enter: Cloning in sci-fi movies almost always goes horribly wrong, but it’s still a pretty cool technology. This week to enter, simply tell us what is your favorite fake sci-fi technology? Is it Star Trek’s transporter, Stargate’s Big Ring thing, The T-1000, what? Winner will be picked randomly. Contest ends seven days from now and is open to all readers world-wide. Good luck!

This is pretty damn cool, but if they stick with the non-removable battery, I doubt it will be able to make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.

Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader ishervin for the link!

And then there was porn

[UPDATE 2: Well, looks like Apple finally DID step in and remove the app. Apple PR: "Apple will not distribute applications that contain inappropriate content, such as pornography. The developer of this application added inappropriate content directly from their server after the application had been approved and distributed, and after the developer had subsequently been asked to remove some offensive content. This was a direct violation of the terms of the iPhone Developer Program. The application is no longer available on the App Store"]

[UPDATE: The Hottest girls app has NOT been pulled by Apple. It is currently unavailable on iTunes because the developer pulled it temporarily as they adjust their servers to handle the increased traffic today's sales have generated. "The Hottest Girls app is temporarily sold out. The server usage is extremely high because of the popularity of this app. Thus, by not distributing the app, we can prevent our servers from crashing. Those who already have the app will still be able to use our app. To answer the question on everyone's mind: Yes, the topless images will still be there when it is sold again. -ATG dev team"]

Today the iTunes app store became a man, having finally seen its first adult app. Meaning nudity. Meaning boobies.

The app responsible for taking iTunes’ virginity is called “Hottest Girls” ($1.99), an app that until today was merely a bunch of Asian chicks in lingerie. However the app has gone through a massive update, and besides now boasting “You should be happy to know that the new update contains 99% non-Asian images”, it is now the first officially sanctioned iTunes app to contain topless photos.

“We uploaded nude topless pics today. This is the first app to have nudity,” writes Hottest Girls’ developer Allen Leung, in what can only be described as an announcement rivaling the first transmissions from the moon landing in importance.

Of course, along with nudity comes a “stiff” 17+ rating, so all you innocent young teens will have to get your porn the old fashioned way. Free, from millions of sites all over the web.
