OMG I need two of these so bad!

I am of course referring to the WOMAN, not the Snuggie.
I managed to successfully hold off on buying a Snuggie this holiday season, but a man can only be so strong. I meam, check out this new LEOPARD (as in OS X) Print Snuggie! How cool would I look?!?
I can’t believe the bargain! Apparently if I order now I can get TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE plus a free book light, and I will certainly need two so I can wear one and use the other as a makeshift tent when the Bride of Macenstein kicks me out of the house for buying 2 Leopard print Snuggies…
Attention pushy, over-achieving parents: All Brain Quest iPhone titles on sale now
Filed under: Awesomeness, Games, deals, iPhone, iPod Touch
Whether you are a domineering parent set on your little Doogie Howser congratulating medical school at age 16 or just someone who’s having a hard time justifying buying your 6 year-old their own iPod touch simply to play games (guilty), you really can’t go wrong with the insane price cuts on Modality’s Brain Quest Titles. I actually bought the Brain Quest Grade 2 and Brain Quest Grade 3 versions for my daughter a couple months ago at $9.99 a piece, but this week the titles have all dropped to 99¢.
As far as forced learning goes, I find the Brain Quest games have been a pleasure to use in blackmailing my child into learning. I simply say that before she is allowed to play a REAL game on her iPod touch or watch an episode of Wizards of Waverly Place, she needs to complete a level or two on Brain Quest, and it works like a charm.
Right now all 6 Brain Quest titles: Brain Quest Grade 2, Brain Quest Grade 3, Brain Quest Grade 4, Brain Quest Grade 5, Brain Quest Grade 6, and Brain Quest Grade 7 are all on sale for just 99¢. I picked up grades 4 and 5, figuring by the time she’s ready for grades 6 and 7 she’ll be using an iTablet and whatever apps THAT has.
MacHeist 3 Bundle rears its beautiful, cheap head
MacHeist 3 has arrived, and for the first time the 12 app bundle promises a $627 value for the low low price of $39. Whether you’re interested in cooking a meal, or playing the best puzzle game of last year, or selling off an old item on Ebay, the MacHeist bundle has you covered.
I find these mega software bundles are often hit or miss, but MacHeist 3 has something going for it that for me makes it extra sweet – the awesome World of Goo ($20). I reviewed WOG last year, and it’s still one of the few games I still play every couple weeks. Also on the list are:
iSale $39.95 - eBay online auction tool
Picturesque $34.95 - add cool effects to your web images
SousChef $30.00 - Digital Cooking Assistant
PhoneView $19.95 - Adds access to your iPhone’s Notes, SMS logs, your call history, disk storage, and more
LittleSnapper $39.00 - Easily grab and share images
Acorn $49.95 - Easy to use photo editor
Kinemac $299.00 - Create Real time, professional 3D animation
WireTap Studio $69.00 - record and edit audio o your Mac
and
Big Bang Board Games $24.95 - 7 classic board games
As always, the bundle also features a few “unlockable apps” which are added to the bundle when certain sales goals are hit. This year’s unlockabels are:
BoixTV $199 - “TV studio in a box,” ideal for recording podcasts, seminars, and other events
The Hit List $69.95 - powerful but easy to use task manager
Espresso $80 - stylish new new web editor
I’m going to go out on a limb and say odds are all three of these apps are likely to be added to the bundle, as I believe traditionally all apps have been unlocked in previous MacHeist bundles. 25% of all sales go to charity, and if you order the bundle by clicking on THIS LINK, you will be giving to the greatest charity of all - Macenstein.
Mark Papermaster’s ransom has been paid
Ah, it seems like it was only November 4th when Apple Announced:
Mark Papermaster is joining the Company as senior vice president of Devices Hardware Engineering, reporting to Apple CEO Steve Jobs. Papermaster, who comes to Apple from IBM, will lead Apple’s iPod(R) and iPhone(TM) hardware engineering teams. Papermaster has 25 years of product and technology experience, and was previously a vice president at IBM.
Well, as you may recall, IBM had a thing or two to say about that decision – namely that Papermaster was in violation of the 1-year “no compete†clause in his IBM contract which legally bars him from accepting a job with a competing company. Papermaster at the time attempted to argue that in his 25 years at IBM, he never heard the company describe Apple as a “competitor”, an argument which sounded a little lame to us, but apparently someone somewhere bought it, because today Apple released the following press release:
Mark Papermaster will be coming to Apple as senior vice president of Devices Hardware Engineering, reporting to Apple CEO Steve Jobs, on April 24. Papermaster, who comes to Apple from IBM, will lead Apple’s iPod(R) and iPhone(TM) hardware engineering teams. The litigation between IBM and Mark Papermaster has been resolved.
Actually, odds are Apple paid a huge cash ransom in exchange for Papermaster’s safe return. No word yet on whether Mark has all his fingers intact, but seeing as he is going to be heading up the largely “touch-based” iPod division, we’re hoping the answer is yes or else we have a feeling valuable research dollars are going to be diverted towards a way to navigate an iPod using your nose.
