Red Giant’s 1 Day sale - 40% off EVERYTHING - today only
Filed under: Awesomeness, News, Software, deals
ATTENTION VIDEO PROFESSIONALS! Red Giant Software, the sellers of such indispensable After Effects and Final Cut plug-ins as Trapcode’s Shine and Particular and The Magic Bullet HD Suite is having a one day only sale, TODAY.
That’s right, just enter coupon code bailout40 during checkout and get 40% off your order, which is no small savings as some of these effects are pretty pricey. Personally I will be picking up the Knoll Light Factory Pro, Datamator, and the Magic Bullet HD Suite. And maybe ToonIt. Oh, I can’t decide, they all look so tasty! A quick word of warning, however: be careful about compatibility, as some of these plug-ins inexplicably do not yet support the latest version of After Effects (and we’re almost at the NEXT version of After Effects!). Redefining “refurbished”
Overstock.com is selling what they call an Apple iMAC G5 Laptop (Refurbished). Not sure whether they refurbished an iMac into a laptop, or a laptop into an iMac, but either way, they went above and beyond what we normally expect when we hear “refurbished”.
The description reads: “Take your technology anywhere with this G5 desktop computer”. Anywhere, eh? Like the chiropractor? They list it at 18.5 lbs.
Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader Kyle for the tip!
Apple special - Buy 99¢ videos for the low price of $1.99
Faithful Macenstein reader Tim noticed some odd pricing when he clicked on the 99¢ Video button in his QuickTime player. Apparently Apple is selling about 2 pages of 99¢ videos for $1.99.

Above: Looking for a deal? Keep looking.
Oddly, if you go through iTunes to the Music Video section and click on their 99¢ music videos box, you get a screen of just 4 correctly priced videos.
“300 Bowl” price drop in honor of “National Bowling Week”
Like most people, odds are you’ve probably called in sick to work today because you’ll be celebrating “National Bowling Week” all week long, and who can blame you? Well, here’s a little something extra to get excited about, in honor of NBW (as it’s known in the industry) TheWay, LTD is dropping the price of its 300 Bowl iPhone game to $1.99 from $3.99.
I have only putted around with the game for a few minutes, but all I’ll say is the drop to $1.99 is certainly a good first step towards where this app should be priced.
