The UK’s Sun and Daily Mail fooled by iPhone Ghost app

We’re not exactly ones to check our sources, but then again, we’re a web page, and if it turns out we write something stupid, we can always hit “delete” and hope everyone forgets about it. (Yes, I know, Google never forgets). But unfortunately for UK papers the Sun and Daily Mail, their idiocy will live on in print for years. Case in point: Check out the following stories both papers ran when John Ware, a 47-year old builder, sent in a pic he allegedly snapped of a 19th century ghost boy while his company tore down an old school house.

Very Spooky, to be sure. Yet, as you can see, that mysterious ghost boy is ALSO haunting the 99ยข iPhone app “Ghost Capture“, which allows you to place a variety of ghosts on top of any photo you’d like.

I am somewhat on the fence here about the Retro TV Dinner Turkey Corn and Mash Potatoes Gadget Case for the iPhone/iTouch.

Sure, it seems like a good idea for a joke gift, but at $20 it rivals the cost of many “real” iPhone cases that a person might actually use. Now, if it looked like bacon, that would be different. But as it stands, there are simply too many carbs for me.

As usual, pics of Apple’s top secret device have surfaced exactly 4 hours before the official unveiling. An Engadget tipster has sent out what appear to be pretty convincing shots of an Apple Tablet-like device, bolted to a table (presumably to prevent this sneaky shutterbug from stealing it outright).

Note the front-facing camera, and “no carrier” label at the top, in line with rumors of a Verizon wireless contract and video chat. Four more hours…
