“Asteroid� to hit MacWorld San Francisco

Apple’s long awaited Garage Band-friendly “Harmony� audio breakout box (previously known only as “Asteroid�) is expected to make its debut at this January’s Macworld Expo. A source extremely close to the project claims the box will be the first consumer priced device to deliver the “Holy Grail� of audio recording/mixing; both zero latency software monitoring AND zero latency hardware direct monitoring.
“Consumer priced� might actually be stretching it a bit. The unit is likely to be in the $500-$600 range, not $150, as previously rumored. However, the feature set is said to be on par with units costing almost twice as much. This device is definitely aimed more at the aspiring musician than the high school kid messing around with his Casio.
