Free MIMOBOT of the Week: rayD80
THANK YOU, WE HAVE OUR WINNER. CONGRATS TO FAITHFUL MACENSTEIN READER LARS.
We’ve teamed up with Mimoco to bring you a feature we think everyone will love – The Free MIMOBOT of the week contest! Each week we’ll be offering you a chance to win a different 2 GB MIMOBOT.
This week we are giving away the super cool rayD80, the upgraded future version of the infamous rayD8 MIMOBOT. rayD80 has been blasted into the here-and-now by a lightning bolt charged with time particles. Now, he follows around his younger, more naive self, protecting him from flash events and broken bones.
To Enter: Since rayD80 is all about time travel, leave us a comment telling us if you could travel to any year in history, what would it be and why? (Oh, and no killing Hitler, that’s just too cliche). Winner will be picked randomly. Contest ends six days from now and is open to all readers world-wide. Good luck!
I would travel to the early days of America to see what it really looked like before all the trees got mowed down.
I would travel to 1969 to see Woodstock in person.
1985. Everyone knows that’s the most pivotal year in the history of human existence. If need be, I’d hit up 1955 as well, but only as a detour.
No specific year, but I’d go back about 100,000 years and see what was what, just so I could finally know one way or another whether time line of the bible had anything going for it.
I’d go back in time to see the premiere of Citizen Kane.
I’d travel to (late) 1999, just to see all the Y2K madness again.
1984? I’d go to the launch of the Macintosh..
2000s, so I can spend more time with my grandpa.
I’d travel back to 2005 to convince myself to buy a Mac as my first computer rather than a Dell. Would have saved me years of living in the darkness 😛
About 65.5 million years ago, give or take a few days; ideally to see some live dinosaurs and the Chicxulub impact that wiped them out.
I’d travel back 2009 years to see baby Jesus!
1955, Justin got it wrong. 1955 is the pivotal point in time, 1985 just happens to be 30 years after it.
I’d go back to the late 80s to spend a lot more time with my grandfather.
1977 to see Star Wars on the big screen for the first time and be part of the phenomenon.
few million years back , just to see what’s going on ( just hope that I won’t cause the butterfly effect 🙂 )
I’d take it personally and would travel to 2000 to change a bit my life. (No marriage is going to take place definitely)
i’d travel back in time to 1980 so that i could see: (a) the USA mens hockey team beat russia on way to the gold medal at the olympics, (b) the philadelphia phillies winning their first world series title.
Back to 1976 and buy loads of Apple stock.
1984. To be a part of Mac history. With a quick stop a few years before that to buy as much AAPL as I can. 🙂
70’s…. New York…Studio 54 🙂
i want to see who stole my lunch yesterday!
I would go back to April 1, 1976, the day Apple Computer was established, to join Steve & Steve to help make their fledgling company a success – I might even give them a peek at the copy of “The Personal Computer History Almanac” in my back pocket.
I’d like to go back in year 2000 and change somehow the results of election in US in favor to Al Gore. Why ? For not beeing in this shit that we are now 🙂
1991. To get my dad back…
i would go back and relive the old Nicleodeon shows like ‘new’ are you afraid of the darks and all thats. gotta love it
Hmm, tricky question, possibly to 1984 to see the macintosh superbowl ad’s great debut.
1966 to be there when it all started!
Year 1 A.S.
2100.
you know, just to know if anyone’s still around..
26 May 1999
Manchester United vs Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final
To be able to rewatch the greatest sporting moment i’ve ever seen,
Where After trailing 1-0 for most of the game Manchester scored 2 last minute goals to win.
Those poor old Germans 😀
i d go back to when apple shares where 8cents a peice and buy 1000 id be rich
I’d go to any time in the past (Well, not any…just the ones the lottery has existed) to win the lottery!
I’d go 3 years back in time and start Macenstein, the world’s most sarcastic Apple news website.
I’d go back to February 9, 1964 – the Beatles first appearance on Ed Sullivan
I’d travel to 2009, the blessed year of the free MimoBot contest !!! [and 12 days after Christmas giveaway]… wait I don’t really need a time machine for that !?!
😉
definitely the 70s, to become a hippie 😉
The year 1919 to attend the Bauhaus design school in Germany and meet great designers like Kandinsky.
I would travel back about 1000 years to get to know my ancestors, the prime-Hungarians. 😀
november 14th 2005: in stead of going just to third base, make it a home run. Will help me stop wondering how it would have been if …
I’d go back 2 years and tell the younger me not to ruin it with the love of his *younger* life. 🙁
i would travel to aug 2007 ant tell me to wait 2 more weeks to buy my mac so that i could have gotten the upgraded version
To just before Macensteins most embarrassing moment so I could photo it and use it for bribery in efforts to win a comp.
I would go and see if OJ really did it.
I would travel back in time just before Gates ‘found the disc,’ so I could erase it, for Apple to prevail
~ 1.6 million years ago, so that I can find anatomically modern homo sapiens and do lab tests on them
Some time in the 1950s to tell my grandpa to stop smoking before it was too late.
I’d go back into the Middle Ages and become the infamous “Black Knight” – only that i’d call myself “iKnight Pro”. I’d have an apprentice and a knave as well; all dressed in white. The apprentice called “iKnight” and the knave named “iKnight nano”.
My crest would be the Apple Logo and my horse would bear the name “Steve” and only be allowed to feast on apples.
Then I’d found my own knightly order known as the “Knights of Apple” and some hundred years into the future it’d still exist and we’d be sponsored by Apple – just sitting around in our iCastle and having great parties with jugglers and stuff xD
ill go to dinosaurs time, step on a bug, and se if future changes 😀
i would go back to october 2006 (i believe thats the right date) and trademark “mac chick of the month”……having done that i would not have to write this since i would have the money to buy rayd80….;)
1918… see the russian revolution and the birth of the soviet union….
I don’t really care about the year, but I would have loved to go back in time to see a Pink Floyd show (or 10)… mostly Animals tour or The Wall (for the show)
