Free Mimobot of the Week: Darth Maul! - Macenstein

Free Mimobot of the Week: Darth Maul!

[Thank you, we have our winner! Congrats to faithful Macenstein reader Quintin!]

We’ve once again teamed up with our good friends over at Mimoco to bring you a feature we know everyone loves – The Free MIMOBOT of the week contest! In celebration of the release of Mimoco’s Series 4 Star Wars Mimobots, each week we’ll be offering you a chance to win a different 2 GB MIMOBOT from the series.

Remember how excited you were when you saw Darth Maul in the trailer?

This week we are giving away a super cool Darth Maul Mimobot. Yes, Darth Maul, pretty much the only redeemable thing we can take away from Episode One: The Phantom Menace. Remember how you almost crapped your pants when you saw Darth Maul’s double-bladed lightsaber? Well, you’re friends will definitely need a change of underwear when they see the Darth Maul mimobot’s butt light up red as you transfer files!

To Enter: OK, there’s no denying The Phantom Menace didn’t exactly live up to MY expectations (but then as a child of the 80’s, how could it?). So this week to enter, simply tell us what is the one movie in your life you have MOST looked forward to? It may or may not have lived up to your expectations, but thanks to clever trailer editing, everyone’s gotten excited about seeing a movie at some point or another. Winner will be picked randomly. Contest ends seven days from now and is open to all readers world-wide. Good luck!

Star Wars – back in ’77. I was only 12 and it was great!

  2. Javier says:

    Kill Bill

  3. Jason Dilley says:

I Am Legend, with Will Smith

  4. It’s hard to say because there were the Spiderman movies, then there was Batman Begins, then Transformers, then Dark Knight.

I guess now it will be Transformers 2 because the first one was so good (compared to how I thought it was going to be) that I want to see what they do with the second one.

Incidentally Spiderman got worse as it progressed completely screwing over really cool characters but Batman has continuously got better which is the complete reverse of those horrible horrible Joel Schmuckmaker Batman movies.

There’s only one series that has progressively got worse with each new episode and that’s been the new Knight Rider series. They tried to blame the actors for that but frankly they really really need to look at the writers for the blame.

mine was Terminator 3:Rise of the Machines
which did not live up to my expectations at all and was just such an awful movie. makes me cringe each time i think about it.

yet in anticipation for its release, i was dreaming of something epic.

I AM LEGEND, the book was AmAzInG, and they RUINED the ending, WHY WERE THEY ZOMBIES, THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE VAMPIRES!!!!!!!

  36. Dave says:

Rambo, the last one they came out with, I still havent seen it, I think the trailer sums it up, I dont want to ruin it, the song in the trailer was sweet too

  37. Was probably when they re-released STAR WARS to the cinema – 1992 ? I’d seen it on the big screen as a kid (was only 5) – and to see it “again” for the “first time” was amazing.

So many MORE things I got out of – I remember chuckling at hearing R2-D2’s noises, and the sound of the Star Destroyer – amazing on the BIG screen – bigger & better than ever !

  38. G Davis says:

The Matrix – I knew there was something gold in them that hills… and it delivered beyond the trailer, cleverly keeping all the great surprises out of the trailer. It was The One.

  39. The Waterman says:

Watchmen. I’m a huge fan of the graphic novel, and the trailers promised something pretty damn close. The movie itself didn’t fall to short either which was nice.

  40. Neil says:

As I was a bit too young to be bitter about ewoks, I have to say Return of the Jedi.

  41. Locoweed says:

    Back to the Future 2.

I was 5 when it first came out and I watched it over and over and over and I would always see the “To be continued!” at the end and long for a continuation of the adventures of Marty and Doc Brown.

And they FINALLY released the sequel, years later. And it was Awesome.

–Er, to clarify, I was 5 when the ORIGINAL Back to the Future came out.

  42. Ellsworth says:

I’m going to have to say Dick Tracy. As a kid, the idea of having a cool watch-phone was epic.

  43. Jas N Smith says:

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls…and no, it did not live up to my expectations.

  44. Zack N says:

    Seed of Chucky

  45. svt says:

Kill Bill. Always been a Tarantino fan, Kill Bill was the longest wait between his movies.

  46. keith j says:

    the matrix.
come on, they teased the hell out of us with those, um, teasers.

  47. DSC says:

I think the one that got me most excited must be 300. The first time I heard of it I wasn’t that interested. Saw a one sheet for it and thought, hey, doesn’t seem that bad. But when I saw the first trailer (can’t remember if it was the teaser but I think not) I thought WOWBAZAMWOW!!!! I just HAD to see it!
A very close second is The Matrix. When the first trailers came out and no-one knew what the heck the Matrix was or anything I just had to see it. My sensations when I left the theatre were that THIS was how all films should make me feel when they ended.

    That’s all. 🙂
