“The 12 Days AFTER Christmas” Giveaway: Day 24 – Belkin TuneBase Direct with Hands-Free
This contest is closed. Congrats to faithful Macenstein reader Leif.
On the Twenty-Fourth Day After Christmas, Macenstein gave to you (or, more accurately, gave you a chance to win…) The Belkin TuneBase Direct with Hands-Free!

Sure we all love our iPhones, but who likes crashing our cars and dying while using them? Not me, that’s for sure. That’s why I’m pretty jealous of whoever wins this Belkin TuneBase Direct with Hands-Free.
Talk Hands-Free and Listen to Your Playlist—Without Missing A Beat
Listen to your iPod or iPhone music and talk hands-free through your car stereo system. TuneBase Direct connects directly through your car stereo’s auxiliary input jack (3.5mm cable included), so you get the best possible sound for your playlist and your calls.
Make and receive calls with the push of a button. If your iPhone is playing music when a call comes in, the music automatically fades out. You’ll hear the caller’s voice on speakerphone loud and clear through your car’s stereo speakers.
Swivel It
The innovative cradle holds your device securely while you drive and swivels horizontally for easy viewing of your device’s GPS features, like turn-by-turn directions. It also makes it easier for passengers to watch videos.A Perfect Fit
The unique cradle easily adjusts to fit most iPods and iPhones—even with a case on.
Arrive Fully Charged
TuneBase Direct charges your device through your car’s 12-volt lighter outlet, so you can listen or talk without interruption—even on the longest road trip. An additional USB port even allows you to charge a second device while you drive
To enter: Speaking of dying while driving, I’m curious just how negligent my readers are. So to that end, leave me a comment telling me Do you ever text while driving? Winner will be picked randomly 7 days later and notified (kind of like in The Ring, only with less killing… we hope). Open to all readers world-wide. Good luck, and thanks for reading Macenstein! (Oh, and be sure to enter ALL our “12 Days AFTER Christmas” Giveaways!)
Please note: Comments may take a while to show up, please do not double-post. Thanks!
Yes, I sometimes do text while driving. I’m trying to cut back.
I can’t stand people who text and drive, talking on the phone I can see, but most people I know have to stare at their keyboard, or lack of, to know what they’re texting someone. So, to answer your question, no I have not.
Nope. Don’t talk on the phone while driving either.
I have once or twice but it is a scary idea and I don’t see myself doing it again — too dangerous.
Nope.
no
Hardly…
If you count “Yes/No/Later” as texting, well I’m guilty as charged
Only at traffic lights
Nope, and I won’t pick up the phone while driving.
No texting while driving for me. Too dangerous.
Nope.
Not since Jan 1 when it became illegal… (rarely before)
No, and when I see others do it I honk at them. Don’t wanna get killed for their idiocy.
no
Very rarely. I’ll check my email at traffic lights, sometimes. No replying, just reading.
Nope.
yes, only at stop lights and clear roads
I’ll text when I’m stopped at a red light. otherwise if I need to get ahold of someone while driving I’ll give them a call.
Nah, need to pull over to do that.
My phone stays in my pocket while driving. The only time I use my phone while driving is when I need directions.
Yes, sometimes, but I don’t send text messages.
Nope. No car to drive… But I have been known to text while riding my motorbike… j/k
Nope, phone stays in pocket the whole time.
I rarely drive anymore – I take the subway – so, no.
I do not. In fact, I have no free texts, so I go out of my way to tell people not to text me.
No. After this one:
oh most definitely. only when there is no traffic of course.
have no license^^
I have been guilty of sending single word texts a few times.
5th. I Macenstein and drive.
I know that it is stuid but I do sometimes…. 🙁 🙂
If I want t type something short I’m doing it : 1) try to do it mostly when I’m waiting in trafic jum or trafic light 2)I’m taking the device into my hands
Never since installing Dragon Dictation – works great!
Pretty hard to text while riding a bike, so that would be “no”.
But my brother, who, unlike me, does have a driver’s license, surely could use today’s prize.
jip I do, and not only one-word-messages. I also pick up the phone and drive (don’t have a handsfree set), nothing ever happened to me while doing so, not even almost.
Do it all the time while cycling! But not in the car no 🙂
No, but that may be because I drove a bike.
No License for me yet, but I promise I won’t when I do get my license.
No, but I Google. lol. (directions only, of course) 😉
No, i can barely text while walking without running into things
No
Text while driving? Hell no. I don’t even like to take a call while I’m driving.
Only if the text is extremely urgent and I have to get to some place fast, yes. Usually text when stuck at a signal.
Hands up. I talk, but don’t text.
Have been known to follow liveblogs of Steve Jobs’ keynotes by refreshing every time I stop at traffic lights.
Only while I am eating and putting on my makeup.
Naaa…. Everyone can wait a while until I reach my destination, or stand at a red light.
Absolutely, NOT!
Never!
Rarely. Mostly text messages are not urgent. 🙂
All the time, however never in bad road conditions or heavy traffic.
