Honestly, the worst injury I’ve probably ever had would have to be a sprained ankle. Short of that, I’m pretty good and safe. Yet to break a bone in my body, and I hope it stays that way. With this bag, my mac can stay just as safe ^^
worst injury would be when I was about 13. I was riding my scooter with a buddy to another friends house. My friend was riding in front of me on a narrow sidewalk next to a very busy street. He decided to stick his foot a little too far back when pushing on his scooter, and my front wheel caught his heel, causing me to do a pretty much a front flip and landing on my left elbow and than wrist. I hit the ground and rolled into the street and nearly got his by a car. Had to than ride my bike up to the nearest store like 3 blocks away to call my parents to take me to the ER.
Fractured my elbow and broke my wrist. Good times.
I had a hernia surgery four years ago. That is as hardcore as I get.
Most painful: kidney stone…
When I was in the sixth grade I went to my local carnival. They had this ride called the Gravitron. For those of you that don’t know what it is — it’s this ride that makes you feel like there is no gravity. It’s not quite like a space ship in space but it’s pretty wacky. Anywho, I was on this ride and it sucked me upward towards the roof of this ride. I didn’t think too much of it until I got off the ride and my buddy’s mom asks me why my hair was all wet. I touched the back of my head and there was blood all over my hand! I started to hyperventilate and was rushed to the hospital. I wasn’t in pain at first, but later on while in the ambulance I was in writhing pain. I ended up getting about 20 stitches because it turns out a metal shaft went into the back of my head about an inch. Any further and I would have been toast. It was weird that I didn’t notice because of the weightlessness. In the end my family sued the carnival company and we got a nice settlement because of gross negligence. After that I never went on a carnival ride again.
Falling off my skateboard and landing on my face.
I’ve never had a big injury, but when I was a child I had to have surgery for something in my bowel…it wasnt fun at all… =S
I’m lucky, since I can say the worst thing I can recall suffering is a couple of badly skinned knees, each knee being done on a different folly. As I recall, the scabs lasted for months on those bad boys.
Knife cut to the bone of my thumb… bleah 🙁
Dislocated patella in high school.
most painful was getting molted plastic over my hand. Especially peeling the plastic that got hard off of my hand :s
Dislocated shoulder: 5 times up until now… :S
Assuming cancer doesn’t count as an injury per se, my worst one was likely when I was running for a fly ball in high school baseball practice. I was calling for it, while my teammate was not. Unbeknownst to me, he continued to chase after the ball. The two of us got to the ball at the same instant, running at full speed from opposite directions. When we collided, his elbow landed squarely in my mouth, knocking my front teeth loose and bending them back at about a 30º angle so that I could no longer close my jaw. I almost bit through my upper lip. I had an emergency root canal, and now I have a titanium rod in one of my teeth. It’s a good thing I drank a lot of milk and didn’t break the teeth. The fly ball was not caught; it bounced off the button of my cap.
I’ll have to go with the sprained ankle, lack of broken body parts… shame! 😛
the tip of my finger got ripped off between a dolly and a baggage container while working at the airport.
torn ACL and then twisting my ankle as well… being in a wheelchair is just the pits.
I fell on my back when I was young and my spine got curved a little, but its fine now .
Got a 1 inch by one inch stone stuck in my right knee when i fell on the road trying to push a car when I were 11. Had to be removed surgically, a scar lives to tell the story.
No broken bones, but I severely twisted my left ankle while jogging. I stepped on a small curb wrong, putting all of my weight on my left side and twisting my left foot inward. My ankle swelled to the size of a grapefruit. I had to limp back to my apartment so that I can drive myself to the hospital.
The road rash from one of my crashes while bike racing. It covered an area larger than a softball on my buttock and took almost a week to scab over and stop oozing. The whole time I couldn’t sit or sleep on my right side.
Broken finger when I was on the high school varsity team. Couldnt play the rest of the season and we went to nationals 🙁
Broken foot because I jumped off a wall and landed on the side of my foot
When I was a child I had every imaginable desease … but the worst was not my broken angle but my broken first fingure on my right hand .
The hspital put a full hand in a bandages and drilled two holes in my hand , but the worst part was the unability to wipe my ass normally 🙂 🙂 🙂
Two broken legs
It was 2 days before I left for my 20 day trip to Nepal. I was 14 and celebrating my birthday with my extended family for the entire weekend. It was evening and I was quite bored of all the celebrations, etc so me, my elder cuz and his brother decided to venture out to the roof of the 3-storey building. We climbed up the water-talk and gained access into the closed terrace-flat. Of course, for this we had to jump off the water tank into the terrace flat. In doing so, I hit the ground hard and sprained my ankle.
Now, it didn’t feel so bad, so I left for Nepal 2 days later (school trip) and it’s there that things got really worse. My foot slowly started to hurt a lot and it started to turn sideways in a way that I could only rest about 60% of the foot on the ground. We were in a whole foreign country, I barely had any “real” friends so there wasn’t much that could be done. The entire trip was horrible. I could barely enjoy anything.
20 days later, when we returned back and visited the doctor, it turned out it was a hairline fracture. I wish I could go back to that day and not jump off the tank.
Once in a winter, I slipped on ice and fell on a metal stripe. Result – cheek teared from lips about 2 cm to the left. Yes, I’m a scarface 🙂
armbroken
only ever broken my little finger once so i’d have to go with another skateboard incident – took a triangular chunk of my brow off after hitting the corner of a bench – it hurt.
Broken wrist, nothing special
dislocated shoulder
knife cut
Herniated disc
top of a test tube after it had shattered on the ground punctured into my hand near my thumb
I went trail riding for the first time, and being some what of a competitive sort I ended up racing my friend downhill. You can get speed counters for bikes, and the speed was TOO FAST.
He wussed out and slowed down, I kept going. I then managed to clip a rock, flip me and the bike up into the air and over and landed and skidded quite a decent way. I ended up tearing pretty much all the skin off one knee, took about 6 weeks for it to grow back into some kind of scabby scar tissue.
The real kicker? We were out in the country so to get back to town we had to cycle, with no knee-skin. For just over 2 miles.
The worst injury I’ve had was from a car accident I was in. Cut lip and nose. Half my face was swollen up like a beach-ball for a long time, and I had a blood clot in my cheek (mostly gone now).
My Macbook, however, got injured last week. I slipped on a muddy patch of grass, and the front right corner hit. It looked bad at first, but the top panel just needed to get popped back in. Theres a few scratches, but its fine. I’d have to have anything bad happen to it in the future.. *hint hint* I need this bag. Also would be useful for carrying stuff to and from my college.
When I was eleven I fell of some monkey bars. I bend my elbow the other way round, thus breaking my humerus, my ulna and my elbow.
My arm looked like the remains of a failed contortionist.
After an hour I got to the hospital where they couldn’t give me pain killers, because everything that would’ve stopped the pain, probably would’ve stopped me altogether.
I had to wait for eight hours without painkillers till they were able to fly in a doctor from Heidelberg, who had the balls to operate me.
Surgery lasted for seven hours all through the night.
Lucky for me they found this surgeon, because otherwise I would’ve definitely lost my arm, of which I have full use again.
i broke my wrist
Spiral fracture of the tibia while skiing.
I’m been a homeboy… the only serious injury is a piece of skin unskinned from my big toe from a broken tile in a public swimming pool. Or maybe that time my friend kicked a soccer ball straight at my head, causing me to black out.
No, I got it. The worst injury I had was when Elke* broke my heart. We had a date on Saturday, she didn’t come. Come Monday, I asked her, playfully, why, and she said she found the man of her heart. 🙁
*not her real name
Sprained my ankle twice in a row. First time during a match, second time after trying to cycle home with a swollen foot and putting too much pressure on it..
Was rollerblading home from the skate park via sketching on the back of a pick up truck (aka pulling a back to the future). Came up over a hill, hit a fresh patch of tar, went head over heels, snapped my wrist and had to roll out of it turning myself into a tar baby, Ended up with 1st and 2nd degree burns all over me and a broken wrist, still went to hockey camp a week later 🙂
The worse would be what the good doctors did to me during my cholecystectomy.
welded my wedding ring to my finger
scratch opened knee….
The worst one is the worst cause of what it caused and not because it was the worst physically.
I tore a ligament on my right thumb, which got my right hand in a cast for 2 months. I couldn’t play my guitar at all for 3 months +.
a hyperextended thumb
Once I sat on my skateboard, rolled down a mountain… It was REALLY cool, until I tried to stop, using my arms vs. the asphalt. Turns out the asphalt won and took quite some skin with it.
concussion
broken foot. 🙁
