I like the iPad, great form factor, many great features, but the lack of Flash support and the lack of ability to save files to a local file system will keep me on the sidelines… Maybe iPad 2 will pry my walllet open.

  2. Luis says:

I dont buy a iPad, im happy with my Macbook and iPhone

  3. Jim says:

    Yes, but not right away.

  4. minicyc says:

I won’t be getting one anytime soon, who still has a first gen iPhone? (anyone?)
of course if my work macbook dies I may try to talk my boss in to getting me one 🙂

  5. mitsch says:

    to expensive…
    maybe later

  6. Alex Clifford says:

There is room for a lot of potential, but I want to see that potential reached before I shell out the moola.

  7. Thomas says:

It’s just a big iPod touch. Who cares about Ebooks. My iPhone 2G and MBP will do just fine for now.

  8. John Daugherty says:

Although I don’t have any need for one, it would be great for my only email and Facebook sister, or my three letter a month mother in law. It also has definite gaming potential for the gamer on the go. If I ever have an extra $499 I could see getting one.

  9. Mike says:

I love it. I plan to get two of them for starters.

  10. Josh says:

I am going to pass on this one. It is not what I was expecting.

  11. flunkycarter says:

i want an iPad.. you giving one away maybe yes hopefully!?!

  12. Smorgasbord says:

    No iPad for me yet.

  13. Gregg says:

I’ll consider it after a year and the second iteration, which also depends on the apps available for it and what you can do with it… As is, it makes little sense for me since i have an iphone and a macbook. I don’t need the in between until it does something really unique for me.

  14. HardCharger says:

    Yes.

  15. Douglas says:

I’m totally buying one – and hanging it in the kitchen/dining room area. Photoframe when not in use, geek tool otherwise!

  16. Chad Gallati says:

    EHHHH…. Its a big iPod touch+eReader….

  17. Angel V. says:

I would get one after a while when its more accessible to hacks to unleash its full potential.

  18. Rex says:

I want one. I’ve been reading more ebooks on my laptop and I didn’t want something non-apple.

  19. Terry says:

Love it! I’m just not sure if I want to wait for the 3G versio of pick up a WiFi-only iPad when it first comes out. Decisions decisions…

  20. Jef says:

Will be waiting for iPad 2.0. Mother-in-law might get an iPad if she plays her cards right though.

  21. Gabriel says:

Oh man, the iPad looks amazing… i sure will buy one

  22. stinkyboy says:

When I can rock a full version of Photoshop on it, I will buy.

  23. Jordan says:

    Later Generation perhaps.

  24. Pat Stark says:

I’ll buy one when it has more full blown apps like photoshop or illustrator, and maybe dreamweaver, so I can really do some work

  25. Chris Bulow says:

Yes; I think it’s ideal for what they’re intending this to do. And yes, I will buy one.

  26. Nick says:

I’m waiting for the iPon. It’s less obvious in a bathing suit.

  27. Travis Schiebel says:

I will own one once they are gen2

  28. Zhivago says:

I think it’s fantastic and I’ll definitely buy one!

  29. Doug says:

Still no background apps? Not sure what the point would be.

  30. biblezombie says:

If I wanted a state of the art device that will not play any of the online games I like, can only single task and has no camera I will just stick with my ipod touch. At least it fits in my pocket.

  31. Kelly says:

    I’ll likely buy V2

  32. Monica says:

Not bad start. Waiting for 2.0. Really want a whole home controller out of that – entertainment central.

  33. Scratic says:

No shame here. My wife and I will probably both be getting one.

  34. Dean Thompson says:

I think there needs to be support for multiuser. So that I can use it to check my mail, then log off and hand it to my wife to check her mail.

But, I’ll probably end up buying one… 🙂

  35. Alan says:

I like the concept of a large multitouch screen, but want a OSX full operating version that I can fun apps like filemaker pro on. I will most likely wait for the iPad to evolve into the iTablet

  36. Joe Y says:

I wasn’t too excited when it was announced, but I think I’ll get one. I was disappointed with the lack of an iSight camera. I’ll definitely only get a wi-fi only one because I don’t want to pay for another 3G plan when I already have my iPhone bill to pay.

  37. Joeri says:

I think it could become a very successful product in the future (after some hardware and software updates), but I won’t yet buy it because it lacks some important features.

  38. No. I will wait for a version with multi-tasking, video and 4G.

  39. Miles says:

I will buy one… that’s what I think about it!

  40. Christophear says:

First I believe Apple felt too much pressure from the media and the industry as well, so it was about time they came out with something and trust me it’s not that bad but also it isn’t that good as we (mainly customers) might have expected.

This happens because of all the rumors that spread wildly over the internet and the supposedly leaked photos, or maybe the purposed renders from industrial designers and fans all over the world. But that’s what they were only renders, hypothetical stuff.

So if I have too judge Apple iPad I must weight this in mind, surely the new A4 and the level of touching response seems marvelous, the new book store will be a blast indeed and everyone with a fair knowledge of the SDK will come with fantastic apps that maybe fill in the blanks for the things left out.

Of course the lack of a camera and multitasking features and the suspicious hermetic new hybrid OS are kind of detrimental but not the point to condemn the gadget and it’s creators. Personally, I believe that in the long run Apple with come with the definitively amazing gadget that people seek unfortunately we’ll just have to wait maybe as someone else said with 2nd gen or via OS updates, third party apps or hardware, who knows.

Me being a vocal coach and graphic designer miss quite a lot the cam so I will buy me a MacBook instead, but if I have the resources (money hehe) I’ll for sure acquire one because I still prefer something out of Apple Labs that those from their PC counterparts.

  41. RJ says:

I’ll wait to see what developers come up with for the new form factor.

  42. Daniel Maddox says:

Not really sure of the exact point of a giant iPod touch, and also AT&T AGAIN???? Very cool though, probably wont buy.

  43. criest says:

    yes !!

  44. asiej says:

I wold buy an iPad it’s awesome

  45. Philip says:

Interesting device, but hard to sell as a productivity tool absent multi-tasking. Until it’s available with that, and on Verizon instead of AT&T – it’s not not on my ‘to get’ list.

  46. Hanan says:

I have mixed feelings about the iPad…
I think I’ll know better if I’m getting one or not, when the new iPhone comes out.
If the iPhone will be same chip but smaller, I’ll go iPhone.

  47. Kyle says:

In my opinion it seems like an over sized iPod touch, and I already have an iPhone so the next Apple product that i get will probably be a Mac Book Pro.

  48. David says:

I think it fits my requirements precisely from this kind of a device. I will defiantly buy one. The first true computing “appliance”.

  49. Mikko says:

Fun thing, could actually be of use to someone, but not me. Will not be getting one.

  50. Lovro says:

I will buy it for my mother 🙂 It look easy enough even for her.
