Anyone else think it’s time for Apple for to remove the word “unexpectedly” from this error?

Is it just me or is this getting worse lately?

Absolutely worse. I almost never had a Mac OS browser crash a year ago. Now I’m getting several Flash crashes and runaway Flash scripts a couple of times a week. Fishy no?

Also my iPhone 3G is running slower and slower, requiring more IOS rebooting to get the darn thing to “just work”. The biggest culprit is the keyboard. It has starting freezing for an eternity (over 10 seconds) with every key press at very odd times. Could it be that Apple has the iPhone searching for local WiFi router locations to upload for its crowd sourcing database while the iPhone is supposed to be paying attention to what I want it to do? I wonder what it is doing while the interface freezing up. What is with the keyboard that makes the iPhone lock up?

Flash is getting rather crashy, it’s true. I haven’t actually had one this week, so I’m thankful for that. But, most of the time I see at least a few a week if not one or more a day. I wish I could simply use a flash blocking plugin, but some of the websites I frequent haven’t ditched the dying format quite yet.

My iPhone 3G is much the same, though it has been for a while now. I find myself having to reboot it fairly often. I have the same keyboard issue, and when it freezes while typing it gets very painful. It’s actually a challenge typing on it without receiving any visual feedback. Restoring it to default from iTunes does help, but only for a short while. Oh well, I guess it’s time for a new iPhone anyways.

    I’ve never had this issue.

never had that problem with Firefox 3.6

i liked Safari 3 on Tiger. it was fast , simple, and worked. but since Leopard, Safari 4 & 5 have given me nothing but page errors and random crashes.

i upgraded my iPhone3G to OS 4.2.1 after being on 3.1.3 for the longest time. and nothing seems to work normally. its slow, the screen goes black at random, the carrier signal is never at full bars, my 3G speed is now cut in half compared to before. waiting for iPhone5 to show itself, so i can upgrade. but at this point im not sure i want to bother with a smartphone anymore.

I have Click to Flash installed so I never see any of these problems. Even better, no one is able to turn my Mac into a box for serving up advertisements! When they pay me BIG bucks to turn off Click to Flash and watch their ads I’ll be happy to do so.

I just listened to Steve and didn’t install flash on my MacBook Pro. However, you’re right, they should change “unexpectedly” to “we told you so!”

I uninstalled Flash from my MacBook per the advice of Gruber at Daring Fireball. I do have Chrome installed for watching Hulu, which unfortunately for them, has built their computer UI around Flash.

    It’s Adobe’s code that’s crashing. Not Apple’s. Duh.
