I did air and then firefly. Worked like a charm

No, nothing will always work first try. I would say I got this in 5 tries the first time, 12 or so the second.

Do air and then firefly it worked for me
I just got it with Firefly left & Dodo right.

I tried it 20 times now never got it yet
I tried many times and finally got my dragons to level 15 and it worked
I did blazing an firefly..i have 3 now

ive tried both like 20 times or more and still no butterfly, this happened with the sakura dragon and never got it in time..
Same with me… never got the Sakura one in time and uts the same with Butterfly… its been more than 20 times and nothing
I feel the same…I Got bloom and clover dragons and love dragons but didn’t get Sakura even if I tried 100000 times and now I can’t get b fly with blazing and firefly OR firefly and wind for 1000000 tries

For pretty much every dragon I have found that the order does NOT matter, despite what people say. For instance I got a Plasma with Lightning and Seaweed, and my wife got it with Seaweed and Lightning. So mix it up if you’d like

Well I’m level 21
Used both combos over 5 times each and all I’m getting is more blazing or fireflys
All my dragons ads lvl 10
Same for me…
Both combos don’t work.
They DO work. You’ve just got to give it time.
Got it the second time I tried air-firefly
What is the record for the most attempts? Seriously, I may have broken some records.I also don’t have the pan long,rainbow,blue fire,dodo. I’ve tried the combos you listed in different combinations. What gives!
Sorry pal, It really DOES seem to be somewhat random as to when it will work. I got my first butterfly after my 5th attempt, and my 2nd after my 15th attempt. Some people are getting it on their first. All I can say is keep trying, and feel free to mix the order.

There is a huge amount of luck involved, for good and ill. Having issues with the butterfly dragon, on attempt 15 or so, and it took me forever to get my first rainbow, but then again I got the emerald dragon first try. Its frustrating waiting for those stubborn ones, but it will balance itself out again.
I tried for the blue fire about 50 times before I got it sometimes it just takes a while
Blazing / firefly about 10th try. Yeah!
I have tried all combinations, in the normal breeding cave and on the island continuesly since it came out, most of the time getting more fireflys and blazings. Just read all your comments, and what do you know!
I have a 12 hour breeding session with air +firefly!
Goes to show, you just got to keep trying!

Breed lichen and crystal dragon to get sun, moon, and rainbow dragons.
Hi for the guy who said he can’t get bluefire. Level6 lichen then level8 fire. Dunno how it worked but first try. And butterfly scorch and air-got me a firefly firefly and air has 12 (lol if bluefire)
Also I bred seaweed and metal and got iron! What on earth
Well like my 30th time and still no butterfly, I’ve tried everything!

Hi. Back to report after the umpteenth try, and a tiny dose of shameful whining – I have a butterfly egg. (heh-heh) I think there’s a moral to the story- never,never,never give up! Thanks for the friendly user guide,Doc!
Second try air plus fire fly in the normal breeding cave both level 10 YAHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
I have every dragon you can get except for butterfly and now the new gem dragon. I’ve tried air and firefly about 45 times. Just gotta keep trying. BTW Gem dragon you can get with LICHEN and CRYSTAL.

Lvl 10 Air + Lvl 10 Firefly in cave worked for me after about 20 tries. Its the best combo to use because for failed attempts the wait time is shorter than the other viable combos. If you use Air and Firefly and get a 12 hour timer then you definitely got Butterfly. As with any viable combo, getting Butterfly is random, so stick with it and you’ll eventually get it!

Don’t worry about it. I tried at least 25 times when I finally got so just be patient

I haven’t tried to get this dragon yet. I’m still trying to get an emerald dragon. I bred Crystal and Lichen dragon a few times and no result for emerald but I got Sun, Rainbow and Moon dragon by breeding them.. This shows that it doesn’t have to be combination that everyone use. You could make your own combinations… So good luck everyone!!!
I got an emerald with Crystal on the right, Lichen on the left, both 10s, in the cave.
AHHHH I still can’t get it. I haven’t got the Emerald dragon either, and time is running out so fast. I hate my luck, but hopefully I can get at least one of the two by the end of the month
Well, you could always try Quake then Lichen for Emerald. Turns out its another combination.
Worked first time on epic breeding island
After three failed attempts with air and firefly I tried blaze and firefly and worked first time!

I just tryed blazling and scorch and ended up w/ 3 hour dragon! I’m try fog & firefly and ended up w/ a fog dragon! Try 16 & 17 failed!
It ended up as a Scorch Dragon!

I got another sonic dragon!
I try flyfire & blazing! And 20 failed!

I tried firefire & air! And ened up w/ 8 hour dragon! Try 21 failed!

I’m trying Fog & Firefly! nope! And blazing & bloom! nope! I try the main combos! nope! I still have it my market! And I’m won’t give up to I have it! Or it’s gone!
