Looking for comments and feedback–Three times I have bred a combination of dragons that could produce a sun, moon, or rainbow dragon. The first time (Firefly 10 and Ice 10) and the second time (Flower 10 and Storm 10 ) I sped up the breeding process after 38 hours by paying 10 gems and got a Sun Dragon egg. This third time (Crystal 10 and Blue Fire 10) I plan to wait the full 48 hours before moving the egg to the hatching area. Anybody have any thoughts whether speeding up a 48 hour breeding period will result in a Sun or Moon Draggon, while waiting the full 48 hours will result in a Rainbow Dragon or a better chance of getting a Rainbow?
I have been trying for a Rainbow with NO luck. I have gotten 1 Pearl, 1 Moon, 2 Sun and 2 Solstice on second and third try. I thought Rainbows would be easier to get then the others. Luck of the draw I guess. Good Luck. ????????. Add me usctrojan12 so we can trade gems.
How did u get pear
I got a Pearl with Snow on left and Seaweed on right. Both dragons are at level 10. I bred them on the Epic Island. Keep trying cause the Pearl can only be breed during the month of June. Good Luck.
I have been also trying for a Rainbow. Nothing yet. Although I have gotten 1 Pearl, 1 Moon, 2 Suns and 2 Solstice. As for speeding up or waiting for incubating time to get them, I am not sure. I have sped up the times and have waited with no luck for that Rainbow. Send a message to Dr. Macenstein regarding incubation times. He may have the answer. I currently do not have a Dragonsai Gifting Tree. I don’t know if I want to spend 100 gems for one. I will hold onto your game name in case I decide to buy one in the near future. By the way, my third 48 hour breeding time produced another Sun Dragon egg.
Hi Don! I finally purchased a Dragonsai Gifting Tree (well worth it!). Prior to having the tree I could only gift 3 gems a day. Now I can gift 7. I don’t know if higher game levels let you gift more a day or what. I am going to research this and I will let you know what I find. Give me your Gamecenter ID so I can send you gems to get you closer to getting that tree. I will also send you tips and comments as I get them. My Gamecenter ID is usctrojan12. Check out my islands. Hi Jaquin! Thanks for your messages. I tried breeding firelfly-seaweed 13 consecutive times on the Epic Island and then bred Firefly- Lichen and got another 48 hour breeding time. I bred at night after 7:30 pm with the hope that if I don’t get a Rainbow hopefully I can get a Moon Dragon that I don’t have. Will let you know the result in a couple of days. Don

I heard that you can get a rainbow with a Panlong and something else I forgot. Anyone know how?
I Read that someone bred a Seaweed with Panlong to get a Rainbow. I tried that combo a few times with no luck. Hell, I have tried ALOT of combos and still no Rainbow. So frustrating. Let me know if you get a Rainbow and if so, what your dragon combo was. Good Luck!
Also how do you get a copper?
I got rainbow quake and lichen first time both level 10. I got bored and suddenly I had a rainbow dragon really annoying though 24 hours to wait. Still really pleased though. My game center name is hug5yb3ar and if I will find more dragon combos then I might need a few extra gems, I spent them all finding a combo for solstice dragon. If you want to know it leave a reply and I’ll tell you.

I was exactly the same as Don K there. I got mine first try on the normal breeding cave and I must’ve tried at least 10 times on the island so I think sometimes the cave is better. Always try both. Add me on gamecenter: TheNuclearWaffle. Will do gem for gem.
I got my Panlong Dragon using Fog (level 10) – Lava (level 10) in the regular breeding cave.

Hi Jacquie! Did you mean Rainbow instead of Panlong? If you got a 48 hour breeding time with Lava and Fog , it should be a Rainbow Dragon. A Panlong Dragon would have a 36 hour breeding time. Please let me know. I hope that you finally bred a Rainbow Dragon.

Mud lv10 + Blazing lv10 on 5th try in epic and 4 more with same combo while trying for the elusive Rainbow!!! Make sure to buy the sun stones I purchased right before the #5 success so may have helped … Good luck

I got my Solstice Dragon using Blazing (level 10) —Mud Dragon (level 10) in the Epic Breeding Cave. You might also want to try Blazing –Moss.
I did cyrstal and lichen a gazillion times and I think I got a rainbow finally. It could be sun or moon because you also breed crystal and lichen to get a sun or moon. So I’m hoping it’s a rainbow.

I have gotten a rainbow twice using blazing and mud trying for the solstice. I’m also breaking both rainbows now which looks like it will produce another rainbow. I notice a trick, you need to sell your old dragon ad level up your new one to 10 when trying to breed rares. Meaning a mud and blazing could produce a mud so sell your old one and level up the new one and try again. Hope that helps some of you!
Yes I have also read that selling old dragons and replacing with new ones does the trick of getting rares. I have this info all around the Guide. Good Luck to Everyone!
I sold my old snow and seaweeds got new ones with hoping for pearl. No luck but it has worked on other dragons. Still trying for pearl and running out of time fast.

In your earlier message you said that you had gotten a 48 hour breeding time with a Lava Dragon and a Fog Dragon. The Panlong Dragon has a 36 hour breeding time. I finally got my first RainbowvDragon about a week ago using a Firefly and a Lichen Dragon on the Epic Island.
I got my first rainbow dragon by using a level ten mud dragon(left) and a level ten blazing dragon(right). It took me like 12 tries till I got the rainbow dragon but it was worth it
I tryed geting a solstice dragon with a blazing and mud dragon and I got a rainbow dragon instead.
Woohoo! I got my rainbow dragon while trying for pearl. I guess I should consider myself lucky I got mine without even trying ????

i think the cave is better than the EB island, I’ve got my moon and sun dragon in there from to random breedings of blue fire and crystal. I NEED RAINBOW!
Hi Jaquie! Surprised myself yesterday – after finding out that the combination for the Ruby Dragon was Chrome – Scorch. I decided to try a couple breedings in the Epic Island Cave. First attempt resulted in a Firework Dragon. Second attempt resulted in a 31 hour breeding time – Ruby Dragon. Following Dr. Macenstein’s site it took him about 60 tries and 600 gems to get his first Ruby Dragon. The combination is definitely Chrome (level 10) — Scorch (level 10). Regarding the Rainbow, sometimes I think each person only has certain combinations that will work for them. In my case, I’ve tried Seaweed- Firefly 20 to 30 times but had my one sucess with Firefly -Lichen. Do you have a Rainbow Habitat on your islands? I think it may help if you have a Rainbow Habitat already built. Hope this helps. Have a Happy July 4th! Good luck. Don

I guess each player should follow their own playing path but the challendge is more exciting going down that path with Dragonvale Players like you. Yea. I have had a Dragonsai Gifting Tree for about a week . I’m trying to keep my friends list at about 6 to 8 people so that I can send gems to everyone who sends one to me. You are on my friends list. When you get a chance visit my islands. I Just moved a Quicksilver Dragon egg into the incubation stage. I just visited your islands about 30 minutes ago and noticed that you do not have a Rainbow Habitat. You may want to build one ( sell one of your other minor habitats in order to make room if you are already at your maximum number. I just added a 2nd Rainbow Habitat in hopes it will improve my chances of getting a 2nd Rainbow Dragon.
Hi Don. Thank you for having me on you exclusive list. When I first started Dragonvale a few months ago I got over zealous and added a lot of friends. I keep tabs on who gem for gems to weed out anyone who isn’t trading. I have gotten pretty lucky and haven’t had to delete anybody yet. I really wish that Dragonvale would increase the number of gems you can gift a day. 6 gems is not enough. I am going to take your advise and sell one of my plant habitats to add the rainbow habitat, but it pains me to sell the dragons in that habitat. I have so many minor dragons, and their duplicates, so the process shouldnt be bad. I wish Dragonvale would add an option where it lists all your dragons by type (not name) how many of that dragon, their current habitat, what habitat you can move them to and then lets the user sell habitats and/or move dragons right at that venue instead of the player going through all their islands and habitats to do it. I actually created an Excel spreadsheet to keep track. Sorry to ramble. I just sent a gem to you and I am going to visit your island when I am done talking here. If you can see anymore flaws in my island system PLEASE let me know. I still feel a little green (playing only since April 2012) in this game of Dragonvale.
Hi Don. Just visited your Beautiful islands. You have so many great dragons and your islands are very clean and uncluttered. My 6 year old and I got bored waiting to level up for new habitats and went crazy purchasing stuff. I was thinking of reorganizing my islands. Especially since that may bring in more visitors. What is the story with visitor totals? One day I have like 165 the next day 54. So frustrating. I think right now I am going to sell one of my Solstices and it’s habitat, since I have three, and build that Rainbow habitat like you suggested. I will let keep you up to date.

Hi Jaquin! Glad that you had a chance to visit my islands. I visited your islands again. When you have enough extra Dragoncash, you may want to buy the Hibernation Cave. It can store 25 dragons. For instance, if you breeding for a Rainbow with a seaweed and a firefly and you breed new fireflies or seaweeds, you can store some them for future matings or if you get a dragon that you only have one of like a Bluefire or a Frostfire you can store it and use it as a new replacement at some future time. As for the visitors I noticed the count goes way up when you are doing improvements such as replacing stone paths with marble paths. Visitor count also goes up slightly when playing and going around collecting money from various habitats. Don
Hi Don! So I can move incubated eggs to the Hibernation Cave instead of a habitat and dragons from habitats to Habernation Cave instead of selling them?!? If so, that is wonderful. I sold one of three of my Solstice and sold its habitat to build the Rainbow Habitat before you gave me the Habernation Cave info. I tried breeding Firefly/lichen with no luck. I will try again. When you hatch an egg you can move it directly into the Hibernation Cave just like you would have moved it into a habitat.You can move dragons between habitats and the Hibernation Cave at will . It functions as a storage area for dragons. My dog’s name is Zena. She is a 10 year old Border Terrier.
Don K. Thanks for the Hibernation Cave info. I am still trying for that Ruby. I have bred and hatched new Chrome and Scorch Dragons with no luck. Still early in the month. I didn’t get my first Pearl until middle June and my last at the end. Maybe the end of July will be the ticket. Oops I am on the Rainbow page and NO RaInbow. I am a patient person. Xena is adorable. My 6 year old wants a dog but we are adding on to our home and impossible for a dog. Probably close to Christmas. Thank you again for everything and reading my rambles.
