Sooooooo annoyed right now, i cannot get the emerald dragon to save my life and if that is that case that it dissappears at the end of the month i will be FUMING! i have tried crystal and lichen at least 50 times and i cant get it!
just tried quake and lichen as someone just suggested it but it has 14 hours and thats clearly not the emerald, and im not wasting any more gems on it!
i have the gem island and i have trying on both the epic breeding island and the standard breeding cave.
seriously has anyone got any idea what i can do to get the emerald?
No other advice but to keep trying. Crystal and lichen finally worked for me this morning…I have a 31 hour breeding time.

I am the same; non-stop breeding on both island and cave since the dragon was available… 3 suns, 1 moons, god knows how many crystals. Its beyond frustrating. Meanwhile, my husband has had two for a week now…

I’ve done the same thing as you…..but the advice to have the crystal dragon at least one level higher than the lichen worked! First time I tried it…..still kinda pissed, but glad I got it 🙂 31 hours breeding time.
Literally just read this post five minutes ago, tried it, and it worked. So there’s hope 🙂
Really works Crystal is one level higher than the lichen. Works for me first try.
Well i was thinking yesterday how it was made in a crystal island or something it says it on the description and the color is green so im guessing mix a plant or mixed plant with crystal if any body wants to add me for gems my game center name is DAVIDTERRE1

The cyrstal needs to be a higher level than the lichen to make it work
Everyone I know that has the emerald got it with level 10 crystal and level 10 lichen.
I have a 48 hour dragon to finish incubating. Yay! but I really want an emerald.

Go to the game centre app and add people from that, the names/friends will then appear on your dragonvale friend list, sometimes you have to wait a bit – or reinstall the game, don’t worry though, you won’t loose where your up to.

Mine was level 10 crystal on left, level 11 lichen on right. This combo also gave me a moon dragon on Saturday.

With level 19 crytal and lichen respectively, first I got sun dragon and I took a risk of using my gem coz i only have few days left, and so I did, I put back the dragon back in my normal breeding cave and datannnnnn… I got a 31 hour incubation period, can it be an emerald? I’m nervous. Luck finally hit me.
First try and got an emerald egg now. Tried again to get a second one and now have to wait 48 hours… Could it be another emerald??

What in the world did u use? I am currently breeding in both caves with crystal’s level one higher than lichen’s. HECK I’VE EVEN RESORTED TO SPEEDING UP W/ GEMS and I have 2 6 hr wait times! Please help!
48 hour breeding time is sun, moon or rainbow. The emerald is 31 hours.
On my second try of crystal (level10) and lichen (level10) I got the 31hrs incubation time do here’s to hoping it a emerald dragon!!

Ok, I have been trying non-stop since these were available. Nada. And now it mocks me, there are two days left and I get not one but two 48 hour dragons, tying up both breeding places! Are you kidding? I already got a sun ( not the rainbow I really need, sigh) I have no more gems left to speed these up, no space in my hatchery either!
I think I may be done with this game! I said if I fail to get the emerald I am done.
Is there any way to get it for sure because you know I’m getting really mad here. I musta tried at least 100 times. And I’m still mad.
Try crystal on left, lichen on right. Crystal needs to be at least one level higher. Tried at least fifty times myself, got this advice, then it worked on the first try. 🙂

I had been trying with crystal on the left and litchen on the right, both level 10 and breeding them (in island and cave) and like for at least 5 days… 3 days ago they gave me a rainbow dragon, it just hatched few hours ago… And I the same epic island, now I am getting 31 hours of incubation with level 10 crystal (left) and level 10 litchen (right) just be patient… I got like a million of other dragons… Right now also I’m trying the same order but litchen in level 9, in the normal cave… So well let’s see of it works and I hope the 31 hours breeding its the emerald 😀 well just don’t lose hope 🙂 I have oviously like 3 couples of crystal and litchen dragons hHaha so well just keep trying it will work for sure 😉 cheer up! How can you add each other? It won’t let me add a single friend even when my friends on Facebook try to add me. And is there any other way to get the emerald other than crystal and lichen ? I’ve now done it 247 times since it came out to no luck! Help! Add me if you can paigee.

I got my emerald dragon by breeding lichen on the LEFT and crystal on the RIGHT. I read somewhere else that that was the right order and it worked for me
What time frame? I have tired about 100 times and nothing! Very very frustrating! I wonder does time frame have to do with anything? I know the Moon was around 12am Eastern time. If I don’t get an Emerald dragon, I’m done with this damn game!

I have been breeding my level 10 crystal and level 10 lichen back-to-back since Thursday. I would be happy if I had a sun, or a moon, or even a rainbow, but noooooo. I keep getting moss dragons and something else I already had. I got excited because I got a 24 hour incubation time, then it gave me a crystal egg. Persistent me. I tried again, now I have a 14 hour incubation which is clearly not one of the dragons I have been hoping for. I’m about to blow a gasket.
I have been trying for emerald all month. Today is last day and I’m frustrated. Crystal and Lichen is not working and neither is Quake and Lichen. I don’t have enough gems. If u have extra gems please add me shellebell71. Thanks

I’ve gotten 8 moon dragons so far. I don’t think I’ll ever get an emerald at this point.

First try crystal lichen on both breeding spots, 2x 31 h… All lvl 10
I have a 31 hour incubation with a level 12 crystal and a level 13 lichen at the breeding island. Must have tried 30 times prior to this. Good luck to everyone trying!
Just keep trying crystal n lichen dragons. I breeded two pairs of them and tried both on epic island and normal breeding cave repeatly for faster results. Afer 10 times… I Got 5 moon dragons and today, finally, i got incubation tim
31 hrs. 🙂

Ive been trying since the update was uploadad, and i have breed litchen and crystal at least 70 times and im preety mad right now. Somone please help me. Ive breed both on level 10, then litchen on 15 and crystal on 10 on both breeding caves and i still get nothing. I have get like 6 suns, 2 moons and 3 rainbows and right now im waiting for a f*****g tree dragon. And im going nuts! Somone please HELP ME with gems. Please add me bodertox13 thank you

Dragon, are anyone of you doing it in the Breeding Cave? Because, I don’t have Epic Breeding Island, and I don’t have or know anything about the Gemstone Island
I’ve gotten 1 in both the epic and regular. In the regular I changed the order to lichen and crystal, not that I think it matters.

I got an emerald dragon on my first try with crystal and lichen, nut now I can’t get another one:( I have two breeding islands and I’ve used that combo on both like 15 times now , how often do that actually show up in breeding???
Got another emerald just now, second in 3 days. Just keep trying!! My combo was a level 4 Crystal and level 7 Lichen. Good luck! Now off to try for the Panlong.
Aaaaahhhhh!!!! It’s the last day and I’ve been trying all month to get it and I’ve got 0 luck! I didn’t even get a sun dragon or a moon dragon or rainbow dragon but nothing! I’ve spent 30+ gems to incubate and finish the breeding and haven’t gotten it at all! Right now my incubator is full and my crystal and lichen are breeding right now but it’s 6 hours and I have no more gems left! 🙁
OMG!!!!!!!! Finally!!!!! After so many weeks of persistent breeding with the same couple of crystal and lichen dragons I decided to switch to another couple and I finally got it!!!!!! Sigh….so happy..Though it says 25hrs in the EBC, I soon realized the EBC reduced the time by 20 percent and then I was so thrilled!!!! I wonder if Backflip Studio decided to increase the chances up a bit in the last couple of hours….OH well, I got and EMERALD DRAGON. Ahhhh sound like a little kid with a new toy, and all for just pixels. >.<
Just discovered this board last night so I tried my lvl 15 crystal on the left and lvl 10 on the right. I now have an emerald and a moon with a rainbow incubating and another 48 hours wait on my breeding island (used all my gems hatching the others). The rainbow egg was bred in my normal breeding cave

I got it first try on the epic breeding island, the dragons were the same lvl but I guess I’m lucky
On my first try I got the crytal dragon on my second try I got the rainbow dragon. I didn’t do my third try yet.
So frusterating! Last day and can’t get one!!!
The designers need to give us an actuall month to try and get this dragon. The update didn’t come out by the first of the month so they should give us more time.
Today alone, I have bread the crystal and lichen 5 times. I have sped up the breeding 4 times, using my gems, out of pure desperation. I have used my gems to make the lichen younger. Lol. Then older, once I realized it doesn’t changed the level. I still haven’t had the bare satisfaction of a moon dragon, a sun dragon, a rainbow dragon, or the infamous emerald dragon. Now that I have actually spent $4.99 of my hard-earned money, I now know that this has gone too far. Somebody has to know something we(the unlucky ones) can do to improve our chances.
It’s really helped me to click on lichen dragon first, on the right side, and then crystal next on the left. Have 4 emerald eggs in me incubator now 🙂

Trying forever, Crystal and Lichen, Lichen and Crystal – 1 moon, 3 rainbows, 9 crystals, 10 trees…no emeralds. The 3 rainbows would have been nice, if I didn’t already have 5.
