Just keep trying. I have 2 Ruby Dragons and one incubating. This has been the easiest for me to get so far. But I usually level my dragons up to 15 before breeding to ensure better odds. I get several fireworks, then a Ruby. : )
after getting about ten fireworks breeding scorch and chrome I have now got one where the breeding time is 25 hours, could it be the ruby? GC name baldychy to exchange gems
I keep getting the forge dragon and its 24 hours!? What else can I do to better my chances to get the ruby dragon? I only have 7 gems!!!!! 🙁
You could spend £2.99 On gems and buy the epic breeding island. Other than that you can’t increase your chances
I bought the breeding island with gems that I have saved up and it doesn’t help me whatsoever. I have 2 friends that have some better dragons than me and they don’t have the breeding island, so I recommend not wasting your money, buying gems, and spending them on a worthless breeding island. ????
You could get friends that give you gems
And then u could buy the egg for the ruby. That,s what I did.

I have tried at least 30 times now and I have gotten a lot of fireworks, a few chrome, a few scorch, and a 24 hour egg that I believe is probably a moon… Sigh this sucks not being able to get gem dragons easily… But it wouldn’t be any fun if it was easy… Add me: game center name is “Travis or Trevor” (exclude the quotes)
I’m pretty sure that your 24 hour egg is a forge because moon dragons take 48 hours breeding time plus hatching time.
same here tried scorch+chrome so many times and all I’ve got are fireworks 🙁 ,, is there any other combo

I’ve tried that for a week straight. I’ve gotten one ruby so far, and a slew of fireworks. sonics, scorch and chromes. No treasure/gold and only the one ruby. I’ve tried breeding from fresh pairs, but still nada.
NVM, just got the second Ruby dragon. Sigh. Just time and patience, apparently… Oh, and, both of my rubys have been in the regular breeding cave with fresh pairs of dragons. Chrome on left, Scorch on right.

Each of my attempts for the ruby has ended in a single different dragon, hope I will get soon, once I was not able to make Solstice and the other gems yet. Thanks to all of you who has added me as your friends, I am sending my gems in order and will soon reach enough for the EBI, and them I will focus on the Gem tree, so I can offer 6 instead of only 3 a day. I heard that if you reach a higher level you can get a second tree? Could BFS make a system where players at level 15 or higher could exchange cash for 3 gems a week, and 1 extra gem for each higher level that you reach? It would be nice. Thanks to all. bela_fera

Trying for a fourth ruby and my experience was this: The FIRST one was really really hard to get!!! ( I went through about 13 rounds of firecracker and forge eggs lol) and then my first ruby popped- after that it got a lot easier 🙂 – only two rounds of breeding and boom there she was again- but CHROME SCORCH is definitely the way to go 😀

Same thing happened to me I sold seven then gave up and bought gems with real money. Maybe you could try that too
Had a hard time getting the ruby dragon, i’ve been using chrome and scorh but it keeps on giving me firework. I was able to breed another scorh and leveled it to max (10)…tried the combo again ((chrome and (scorh – the new one) and was able to get a 31hr breeding time dragon…hoping its a ruby
So update on my ruby trying… Finally managed to breed one… And that 24 hour one is a forge dragon… So in about 62 hours I will have my first gem dragon and the forge dragon…

I finally got it after many many tries – at least 10 firework
finally worked with Scorch and Chrome – regular breeding ground
My epic breeding island doesn’t seem to be too epic…lol
couldn’t get it with Chrome and Scorch after continual tries gave up and reversed it and it worked 🙂

I’m having trouble breeding the ruby dragon. I have two chrome and scorch combos goin and I’ve been doin this for a while. Bamb1no -Add me to TRADE gems!! I have 3 slots open for friends to trade continuously. That is…you send one first and I send one back. I just deleted 9 “friends” who we’re complete freeloaders! So if u can’t send me gems then I will just delete u so don’t bother freeloaders! If I get good enough friends I’ll only save 6 if not I’ll go for 12 and send a gem every day or every other day. I take screen shots of all gems received, so if you send me a gem you will always receive one in return : )
