As long as they are over level 4 and breed able I have never found level to matter in any combo.

TO Erfan: the only thing the level of the dragon has an effect on is the amount of money the dragon will make and leveling up the shrines. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with breeding or aiding in breeding or increasing your chances of getting what you want.

Something else. The incubation time listed in the shop is how long it takes your dragons to breed.
crystal is 24 hours you’re looking for a 31 hour wait or if you’ve upgraded a 24.48 wait.

can some one tell me another way to breed this dragon? Just in case cactus and crystal doesnt work.
If you buy some of the peridot tributaries (the olivine thingie in decorations) and post it near your breeding cave, it should help. I had a level 10 fountained crystal on the left and a level 10 non fountained cactus on the right. I currently have a 31 hour time. ;D Macenstein works. And there’s this nifty app that is similar to this site. I double check things on Macenstein, but it’s pretty accurate too.
the ONLY way to breed the peridot is crystal and cactus – and having decorations near your cave only helps make the place look pretty it does absolutely nothing to increase your chances of getting the peridot

Now i was worried about to not to get the olymus dragons in the month of July becuase it Will be anoiying to get the peridot dragon. I allready had the silver,bronze now 31 July i
breed crystal and blazing in the island got 35 hours after thoose hours saw it was a GoldOlympus and den it was 1st August know peridot was out tried crystal left cactus right both Lv 10 den i check the time 31 hours got it om My first try !!!
I was so Happy whatever igot it on the breeding Island

How do you breed a peridot dragon
cactus and crystal is the ONLY way there are NO other combos. And don’t get discouraged keep breeding them until you get one, that’s what I’m doing. And don’t listen to any morons who tell you they got it using ANYTHING else. BFS only uses one combo to get the gem dragons they put out and CACTUS CRYSTAL is without a doubt the combo. Good Luck 🙂

CRYSTAL AND CACTUS!!!! I havent tried yet cause im still trying for da olympic dragons but thats the combo said to work
Got mine with Cactus / Crystal on Breeding Island. Took a few tries but finally got it. Trying in Breeding Cave as well but haven’t got one there yet. My Egg Island has every egg that I know of so far on display. Check them out if you like.. Also check out my Olympic Island 🙂 Thomin8r on gamecenter.
Just got peridot with crystal and cactus both level 10 in regular breeding cave on 2nd try! YES!!!! Wait I have no gems to speed it up…….s**t.

I just got it using crystal then cactus.
My sister Got it 1st try but I’m on my 1st and 2nd and both were 12hrs….
What was the outcome of your 12 hour wait? Because I bred cactus and crystal not to long ago and it’s taking 12 hours /: which dragon did you get from it?
12 hour breeding time is a Moss Dragon. 14 hour breeding time is a Tree Dragon.
this is all for breeding places that have not been upgraded:
If you breed crystal and cactus and get:
6 hours – quake
1/2 hour-cactus
12 hour- moss
14 hour-tree
24 hour- crystal
OR your magic number of 31 hours – that’s your peridot.
When your breeding places are upgraded the times become 20% less than what I listed above. Good Luck 🙂

Hey Dragonvale Family! 31 HOURS YEAH! Just confirmed my first Peridot Dragon breeding Cactus on left and Crystal on right. They are on the Epic Island. This was my 6th attempt. I will transfer to incubation pedestal tomorrow. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

I hatched a new Crystal egg and fed to level 10. After that, I bred it with my Cactus dragon level 10 that is already been in the Fountain of Youth, which mean it is in Baby Form. And I got 35 hour breeding time. And now I have a few questions:
1. What is the 12 hour breeding time?
2. Is the 35 breeding time is the August Gem Dragon, Peridot?
3. Does the Fountain of Youth (makes the dragons look young again) effects the chances to get Gem Dragon? I got a Pearl Dragon by sending my dragons to the Fountain of Youth too… By the way, Doc, if you are reading this, please make a experiment of this. I would be very happy if you do!

The 12 hour breed might be the Moss dragon.
The 35 hour breed is a olympic dragon. It can be bronze, silver or gold. The Peridot takes 31 hours to breed. The fountain of youth only affects the dragons look, to make it younger. It will still make as much cash/gems as before 🙂

Guys.. It was a mistake it was a 31 hour breeding time.. And I waited a while and after that I used 27 gems to speed it up and it was a Peridot Dragon egg! Btw, here’s a tip: My friend said breed it early in the morning.. And I breed it at 5:30am and it worked!! Good luck! You still have alot of time

I keep trying cactus and crystal and I never get it. I’m only level 19. Do you have to be a certain level?
Its definitely the combo my sister and aunt both got one with that and there is only ever ONE combo for a gem dragon. Keep trying you’ll get it and you have all month 🙂 Im up to my eyeballs in crystal and tree eggs and down to 6 gems (from 700) so I feel your pain believe me lol
and you only have to be level 11 to get this gem dragon 🙂 🙂 🙂 so you’re good to go for sure
I tried about 11 times and wasted about 1345 gems
Ughhhh!!! Me too. Even doubled up and pulled stock from hibernation and was using both the cave and sanctuary! Ughhhh .. No luck with Gold either I keep getting bronze I think my luck may have run out. !!!!

Just found out how to give 3 gems to one person!!!!!only If you friend them from game stop you can. 1: give them a gem2: log into facebook 3: you can now give them another gem!!!!!
