Ugh. These gemstone dragons are frustrating. My 8 year old is playing Dragonvale on my phone and i’ve been trying to help him out. I can’t count how many times we’ve tried. I even added the epic breeding island for him thinking that would help.
Any adds to peoples’ friends would be appreciated. He only has a few gems and I keep telling him he needs to let them build up. He has the gifting tree though, so anyone who gives him a gem, i’ll make sure he gives one back. ID capncrunchmaster
I too have a gem tree, so can add your son as a friend to gift gem for gem. I have also had numerous attempts at trying to get a Sapphire dragon with no luck yet 🙁

This has been the most frustrating gemstone dragon so far for me. I have breed in total in the breeding cave and island at least 30 times, tried switching the order and used fountain of youth on them with no prevail. I desperately need help!!
Thinking doing the same thing with the fountain, but no luck as well, keep trying though 😀

Try your breeding round 10 p.m for the sapphire dragon, I have found it works most times for me.
I’m on my third one and have been doing it at night and it works. Mountain and rain level 10 on both. If you do it when it first comes out you get it right away, that how I got my first one on a first try when we figured out the combo 🙂
What’s your time zone ? I tried at 10pm in my time and still no success.
Is there a way to track who sent you gem? sometime I got too many at once and the app only shows last 3-4.?
I just did it!! 10 PM EST and I have a 30 hour inc. time on the Epic Breeding Island!!
Finally, after 13 days, i finally got 30 hour breeding time with mountain (left) and rain (right) combo.
Just need to keep trying and you’ll get it!
And also, i had lots of ice, mountain, rain dragons from this combo. 🙂
My friend and I both got sapphire dragons our 1st tries after switching the breeding order after numerous failed attempts
I’ve been breeding none stop but no luck on this one, just tried Mountain & Rain and got a 39 hour breed time EPC, any ideas?

I’m new here in playing dragonvale so i needed so much help 🙂
Time zone GMT (England). Only way to see who sent gems is to catch names when they flash up which I must say is usually pretty fast, but there are people on here saying they gem swap but never return gems when u add them so be aware not everyone are truthful!!
lol 10pm in your time will be 5am my time, this dragon is really hard to get :D. yeah I can track the people sending me gem that wa, but sometime I’m mistaken closing the popup so quick while playing. and a problem with the game that it’s so limited on the number of gems you can send daily, even with gem tree, I can only send to 6 people 🙁
Change time on phone/iPod/iPad it worked on the peridot dragon. Good luck.

I finally got the sapphire dragon after breeding for it using rain and mountain everyday this month! Thank you for your tips, they worked out!! I don’t pay for gems or anything like that so it’s nice to know that this game works out for people who don’t like to spend money on silly iPhone games. Yay!!!
It’s really hard to get this sapphire dragon i tried many times with EBI and got a rainbow that i dont expect to get it and i dont want to get it too 🙁

It’s probs an anniversary dragon and u can get it by getting breeding flower and mountain or any two that’selements amount up to earth plant cold and fire

I know the wizards say to have patience but I have been trying to breed the Sapphire dragon every day since the 1st and no luck 🙁 any tips on how and when to mate Rain and Mountain?

That’s exactly the same with me both my mountain dragon and rain at level seven but still I can’t breed them and I WANT THAT SAPPHIRE REALLY BAD NOW
Ya only combo is Rain and Mountain. And it does no matter which is on right or left FYI. But your odds do get better with breeding cave upgraded and get better with Epic breeding island and are the best odds with Epic breeding island UPGRADED. Just try breeding RAin and Mountain in both to double odds make sure u have 2 rain And 2 mountain. I have never read that the level of the 2 dragons being bred matters, but i make sure ones i breed are atleast level 10.

I finally got a sapphire dragon today! It took me 4/5 attempts. The combination that worked for me was both level 10 rain and mountain dragons but my rain dragon I had made younger in the fountain of youth. I also bred this dragon at 10pm-ish, hope this helps!
I bred in with lvl 10 mountain on left and lvl 10 rain on right with normal no upgraded breeding cave. Just keep trying and you will probably get it!
