I got one on my first try…. Level 10 Fire and Level 10 Storm in the EBC
Ok, takes 30 gems to speed up, and one day, five hours, thirty minutes to breed, without gems, what is it??? ????
It seems pretty clear that any breeding pair that includes (cold + lightning) can yield the blue moon dragon. Since this is the same breeding spec for regular moon and sun dragons, my guess is that the algorithm has been modified for this period of time to sub in blue moon for either sun or moon, i.e., no matter the time of day, only blue moons can be bred, not suns or moons, from the (cold+lightning) combo, until the end of the blue moon period.
[I succeeded with a bluefire+crystal in the EBI as well as a frostfire+storm in the EBC.]
That said I think the above commenters are correct that strategically (in terms of time and gems) the best breeding pair to try and repeat is fire + storm.

Congratulations to all who got it through these certain hybrid combos, but it seems a bit mediocre where base element cold and lightning can be simply used…
In example of Blue Fire + Crystal, Congrats again to those that have got it, but there’s serious chances of getting others you don’t want, and also the chance to get another 24 hour crystal…we’ve all been through that unwanted drainer. And then there’s also the 48 hour Rainbow consuming 2 days….other results being Firefly, Scorch, Storm, Quake, Lava ($5000 for 10 hour), and Mountain.
Seriously, just be smart about it, the suggested combos i’ve seen this page have for a lot of dragons are not the best you could get; though I do like its presentation 🙂

I put blue fire(left) and storm (right) and I got 5 hours I will keep trying until i get but when I was breeding it took ages to see what result I got . Why? Godd luck to everyone else and keep trying

WTF dude i breeded sonic and ice burg both ways i also tried the fire on left and and storm on right why isnt it workin for me im about to break my whole house please somebody help me!!!!!
Stay calm, and try any combo with Cold and Lightning. (Air isn’t bad either.)
I got a Blue Moon with a level 15 Bluefire and level 15 Crystal on the first try!

spent like 120 gems (thats 3 for breed + 3 for incub) so almost 20 tries, and no luck yet

Apparently lightning and cold works too!! I was trying to make a storm to then breed it to my fire and I got a blue moon on the first try!
Plasma + Cold for me.

Blue fire + Crystal on the EBI….got it on the first try. If only I could get the actual Moon dragon this easily; have been trying on and off for over a month with little success.

Hey if you get 3 hour breeding time with fire and storm what would it be? The possibilities are scorch, firefly, or storm, but can you make that with those dragons? I AM SO CONFUZZLED!!!
Apparently with the fire and storm combo you can also get a blue fire or frost fire which are both like 12 hours. I got one of those not even thinking that I could have gotten it.
I have been having no luck breeding a Rainbow so I tried two different combos in both breeding caves and WOW I got two Blue Moons at once. Bluefire/Crystal and Sonic/Iceberg worked for me.
I am really low on luck and gems. Tried twice with fire and storm in the breeding cave and got 3 hours breeding time on both occasion.

Please try lightning and snow, I never get rares first try but this worked! I did it on the epic breeding island. For helpful suggestions, download the dragon calculator app!!

Hi everyone
Check this out…I tried several times with fire & storm, no luck.
HOWEVER, I have the DragonCalc app, and decided to check it out. It has been updated to include the Blue Moon Dragon. I looked at the success percentage, and used the highest one that DIDN’T require a Blue Moon (the first 4 did), and that was (drumroll please…)
Lightening + Snow with a success of 36.08%
Try it…I got it FIRST TRY on EBI

Here is the data as of NOW:
Lightening & Snow = 36.08% (158 attempts)
Above combos:
Blue Fire & Crystal = 0.51% (5125 attempts * this will include ALL history, so seems low but remember Blue Moon not out long)
Fire & Storm = 0.24% (5004 attempts)
Sonic & Iceberg = 2.25% (934 attempts)
PLEASE remember that these stats are based upon what users input as their breeding results AND the success outcomes are based over time (since Blue Moon has only been out a couple of hours now, the percentage success is low).
Hope this makes sense.
Other successful outcomes listed are:
Lightening & Sonic = 10.34%
Snow & Sonic = 9.43%
Clover & Steel = 8.33%
Firefly & Storm = 3.94%
I understand the logic with using this as a guide to help with success rates of the dragon’s, but it only works if the amount of tries is divided by the percent thAt they got it (or something mathmatical like that). The only reason that lightning and cold’s percent of success rate is so good is because not many people have tried it. If it had 5000 tries like the other ones it would be a lot lower.

I got it first try with Sonic / Iceberg. I got another one using Storm / Iceberg. (Was an accident as I meant to select Sonic and clicked Storm!)
Seem like a LOT of combos for this easy to get dragon.
I was trying to breed storm b’cause I wanna try fire+storm combo, but Got a 29hours + for lightning and cold at EBI instead..
Hopefully it’s a blue moon 😀
I have 2. Here are 2 combos. I got one with Bluefire and Sonic (I got Bluefire while trying for Blue Moon, an ironic but pleasant suprise.) as well as Cold and Quake. I was really pissed off at first because I was thinking it was Sapphire, a dragon I already have. The only problem is I saved up 134 gems (stupid Panlong) and now I have 11.
Suprised? The combo for Moon is also Cold and Quake, that is how I have 1 Moon and 4 Suns. Plus, a Gold, Bloom, Reindeer and Firework.

It is really easy, I’m glad and I think they made it easy so people wouldn’t have to wait 3 years, also since it is only like 2 days.

woah this one is fairly easy to get, I’m guessing it’s because it’s only for 3 days…
Do I have to buy another Moon Habitat to place it? Or can I have both Moon and Blue Moon on the same?
Also, has anyone noticed how the Moon Habitat is shining? 8D
Firefly + Storm on third try. Incubation time is right for a moon so I’m hopeful. 🙂
I just got one 1st try in my EBI with lvl 10 blue fire on left and lvl10 crystal on right!!!!!!!! So exited. Thanks so much doc. Plus I told my sister and she got it 2nd try on rglr breeding cave and now she is thanking me!!!!

What is the breeding time for this dragon? I know incubation is 29hrs… I bred sonic and iceberg, and have a 24 hr incubation time… What else could it be?!
