Mud and Lava – got it first try ( mind you I have been trying desperately to get the elusive ‘limited time’ dragons… This is my first real success since the bone dragon… Don’t give up, but don’t let the game consume you or your wallet either! I paid for gems for the EBI, and got this Opal in the regular, plain old breeding cave. I figure they finally felt li throwing me a bone…… -_- lol!

The key is to be pacient. You still have 28 days to breed it. No rush!
Just use one combi ei. Mud and lava, dont switch though position doesnt matter.. I got 6 opals for at least a100 try.. Check my park… Dyeyar23 is my gc

Is it only me that can’t seem to get this dragon no matter how many times I breed lava and mud? I even have the lava youthed and it’s still not working! 🙁
I don’t think having them look younger changes the chances of breeding rare dragons. I don’t have it yet for the record, and I’m sure be tired of Lava and Mud hatchlings by the time I do. 🙂

I’m thinking Gold (fire + metal) or Silver (cold + metal). Also a (cold + lightning + fire) combo can yield Moon, Sun, or Rainbow…. So there’s.no telling.

Hey doc. Just a question. How many gems did you spend yesterday trying to figure out the opal dragon. I would think in the range of 300-500. But I could see more or less?

500 gems no opal. This is going to be like sapphire. I would have been better off buying it as I spent more gens and still did not get it. !!!!
Wow 6th try lava+mud . Usually I don’t get my first one until the middle of the month. This is too cool now I will get bored all caught up on all my dragons. I don’t get greedy you can only have 12 on the island any way. Will try to get one for display. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!

I have it? My first Opal dragon is breeding two days into the month instead of two weeks? Hell yes! ^_^
Oh and it was my best breeding Lava dragon on the left and my mud dragon on the right EBI both l 10.
I say best breeding because every time I use him I get the epic/limitted I’m aiming for. My best example is both my Paper dragons were from him and my Evergreen dragon. Lol, sorry for the rant. I just knew I was going to get this one when I saw that Lava was one of the parents.
I always have good luck when lava is involved too lol Seems odd but ill go with it.

Opal dragon looks like shit, ugly dragon
the rock they gave for October is so ugly as well, could they not come up with something that didnt look like a pile of dragon pooh??? Come on MAN
I got my first Opal Dragon using Level 15 Lava and Level 15 Mud in the regular cave after about 19 attempts in the Epic Breeding Island and 3 attempts in the regular cave. This is the first gemstone dragon that I got in the regular cave. ( Eleven prior gemstone dragons were all bred in the Epic Breeding Island. 21 attempts resulted in 13 Mud Dragons and 8 Lava Dragons.
