First of all, I want to thank Mac for a great job!
I’ve played dragonvale for many months now and I still love it. All my dragons in action are also available in display. Feel free to join me to visit my park and also for gem-trading. Im doing my best with gems and gifting back as good as I can! Hopefully I can breed two Opal-dragons before the middle of the month!

I don’t seem to be having any luck at all – tried all last month for Sapphire & didn’t get it & this time I’ve already bred 23 lava but no opal ???? Add me I have 3 gems a day to give

I have tried with lava and mud in alternating positions 12 times and got 8 lavas and 4 muds…keep selling them and got XP and gold enough along with the collected dragon cash to buy a few volcanoes which leveled me up more than I thought…maybe by the time I actually get the opal, I will have the ability to buy another habitat 🙂
I still have not gotten sandstorm, tried at least 25 times with various combinations. Also no moon dragon or olympus dragons, no gold or silver. My son got the sun on first try and I got the Equinox on first or second try with recommended combinations.
I also have the gifting tree but have tried adding people in the past and they obviously didnt have the tree so they got deleted.
How do you delete someone?
Go to Game Center and Unfriend the person that you want to delete.
Air and Mud is a good combination to use for a Sandstorm Dragon. I got mine using Quake and Air but that was before they released the Olympus Dragons. Since you do not have Olympus Dragons , you may want to try the Quake and Air combo.
You are so lucky, I was trying to get the equinox but failed. MISERABLY. ????

How do u send gems to people?
Hello. You have to request your friends that plays dragorvale.
You also need the dragonsai tree and when six gem fruits have grown on the tree you just go to your friends list and next to their name is a gift tab. Just select the free gift tab for your friend of choice and that friend will receive a free gem. The gem fruits grow once a day and the tree initially costs 100 gems
U should be able to get 3 gems to send friends without the tree
I haven’t got the opal yet. For the previous gem dragons, I always got them at the last minute. Hope it won’t be the case for this one cuz I want to have time to breed other dragons. I’m collecting gems to buy the gem tree. So plz add me and send me gems. Once I have gem tree, I guarantee to send u gems everyday. Add me kkokkokk
I just started in Sept. My first game like this. was so happy to get Paper and Blue Moon but missed Equinox and Sapphire. Got a God Treasure and three Olys. at level 21. have no friends and a Gifting Tree, so if you need a buddy…

What is breeding time I might’ve got it?
I bred the opal dragon yesterday in my EBI and the egg is now in my hatchery. The only problem about this dragon is it looks like a pile of poop. I thought the gemstone dragon would be beautiful. I guess that’s the price we have to pay to have dragons that produce gems. 🙁
This doesn’t work! I’ve tried this combo several times. I’ve only gotten Lava Dragons!!! And I don’t have gems to spare for rushing breeding. DraykoFRayat if anyone wants to send me some?!?!?
So took a break from trying to get opal and I did quake and blazing, 24 hour breeding time….could be sun?
Sun is 48hrs it’s probably a crystal
Got Opal with Mud and lava in that order on EBI first try, and I have terrible luck with rare dragons. Tried all last month every single day did not get sapphire. Yay opal.

No it’s crystal, but I got sun on my first try using lichen and crystal and I tried lava on left and mud on right for 54 times and never worked, but then I tried MUD ON THE LEFT then LAVA ON THE THE RIGHT and it worked!!!!!!

I just put a Mud and a Lava in a normal breeding cave. It’s got a 31 hour incubation time! Opal Dragon for me, yay! Thanks Dr. for your awesome advice.

Okay, I know it sounds really crazy but this is all true. Doc, you can say all you want, but have seen this with my own eyes. I am a frequent visitor to my DragonVale account, and so are most of my freinds. One of them started 3 weeks ago and on lecel 14 she bred a Rainbow. When she was telling her freinds 2 weeks back, someone mentioned she had a Emerald and a Bone. Might not sound odd, but she got them last month. She simply used Fire and Earth. Weird huh?
Got it on my first attempt luckily … mud in left slot and lava in right slot. 25 hours to incubate.

I had this guy on my friends list for about 15 minutes. He had about 70 friends and no Dragonsai Gifting Tree. At a rate of 3 gems per day, you will be lucky if you get one gem every 20 days.

I just got 2 opal dragons in my game and my sons in the normal breeding cave… FYI I also have ebi … It was at 11 pm eastern time I did lava on left level10 mud on right level 10… Good luck

Hi,
Try this:
Take your mud & make younger in fountain of youth
Then do the same for Lava. Don’t breed either until both are newly young.
Once BOTH are babies again, breed. I got Opal first time using this recipe!
Seems to work for me for ALL gemstone dragons. Takes a bit of patience to wait for both to get young, but just be patient and on Day 2 you should have a gemstone going.
I’m on my seventh try and still not getting one, is maybe because I don’t have the epic island or upgraded breeding cave?

No luck here either, I am up to 15 mud and 8 lava so far with this combo… Strangely, I get no other dragons just those two… From either my cave or my island too.
