Tried blazing and obsidian at least 5 times and didn’t get what I wanted. First try with blazing and mud…. RESULT! A definite winning combo 🙂

These combinations are not the best. BLAZING and EARTH are definitely the best.
I got it the on first try, my girlfriend have tried 3 times and got 2 and a friend of mine also got it on first try.
You can ofc get it with the macenstein combos but its way slower.
Although this would work it actually has less of a chance than say blazing obsidian, due to the fact that blazing and earth has a chance to make a dodo while blazing and obsidian has only 4 outcomes.
Blazing and obsidian can also result to dodo and sandstorm… Blazing + earth or any earth hybrid can result to solar eclipse dragon… In other words the requirement is simply blazing and earth element…
Nope, read under. And in this game, dont always do what makes the most sens. Go for what people say work.
Everyone on youtube say this is the best combo also. Give it a try;)
I did it! It took 3 consecutive tries in the EBI and I got it. Blazing & Earth Thank you it worked for me.
Blazing and lava first try…..next on 3rd try. One incubating, one breeding now… I’d say this combo works.
I have no idea how you get your combinations so quick but they always work! Just got my Solar Eclipse dragon using Blazing and Bone on normal breeding cave. Keep up the good work. You make dragonvale so easy!!! Cheers

Firework + earth or earth hybrid surely will work as firework shares the same element as blazing… It’s just that not everybody has a firework dragon…
Wouldnt just breeding a sun with an equinox get you one since equinox has moon and sun?
Unfortunately not. You will breed a Sun dragon
Apparently you will be able to breed an Eclipse dragon with Moon:Sun on the 13th (In the USA) and the 14th ( In Australia) as that’s when the solar eclipse occurs.
I’ve had luck breeding 2 Eclipse dragons using Blaze:Lava & 1 using Blaze: Obsidian
So yeah, Blaze with a dragon containing Earth should get you an Eclipse.

Blazing and Bone worked second time for me 🙂
Tried many times with blazing on left and bone/obsidian/lava on right, to no avail. Suddenly decided on a whim to put lava on left and blazing on right, and voila! 48 hr breeding period. So I sped up the pair in EBI and tried lava left blazing right again and got another 48 hr breeding period. Could they be anything else besides solar eclipse?
Don’t think so. I think you have an Eclipse dragon 🙂
Obsidian and blazing first try
Got 2 of them, Blazing + Obsidian was a good one as was blazing + mud. Now I need to level quickly so I can buy another habitat.
I have tried blazing and Obsidian like 12 times should I moved to a different combo?
I’m not sure it seems to be best judging by others comments and I got it on the first try with blazeing and obisiddian so if I were you I would try it a couple more times and then move on. Also getting the solar eclipse decorations increase the chance of getting the dragon
I’d also keep trying a few more times. I have had better luck with Blaze: Lava but did get one using your combination.

If you have the epic breeding cave or island then you got yourself a solar eclipse. If you haven’t had either upgraded then I have no idea

Got it 3 times in a row with obisidian and blazing! On first try too
Blazing and Mud also works (was trying to breed a Panlong Dragon and got the Solar Eclipse instead).
I got it with a bone first fog second. Both level ten. First time with that combo

Got it! Normal breeding cave with blazing and bone…although I alternated between lava, bone and obsidian about 7 times. Now i can build an army of equinox and solar dragons

What I observed after breeding 3 solar eclipse dragons, is that you keep breeding blazing with lava/bone/obsidian until your nursery is full. The only time a solar exlipse is breeding (in my case) is when I pair blazing with lava when the nursery is full. Otherwise, The result would only be obsidian or blazing or lava. I hvent gotten any solar exlipse dragon bred when my park nursery has empty slots.
Hmmm, you might be on to something there. My nursery happened to be full when I got my two 48 hr dragons in a row…..
To get solar eclipse dragon bred obsidian on left and willow on right and it has worked 3 times first go. Other combos listed didn’t work for me.
Just did this combo and 2nd try on island(3rd including 1 on cave) and got 2day breeding time hopefully it’s solar eclipse not a 2nd rainbow. Wish me luck. Need 2 friends who will send me gems everyday as I will send one everyday. Send gem first after being added to start cycle if I don’t accept then spots have been filled.. I.d:
Blazing left, obsidian right. Tried three times and have two eclipses. Bred one on EBI and one in normal cave 2nd attempt
I got it 1st try with pollen and bone, but my sister got a seasonal dragon when she tried the same combo. Isn’t that weird?
I’ve tried at least 20 times with all these combos and still all I get are blazing and obsidian. But with enough time, and friends to get gems from, Im sure this one wont get away. If anyone needs help speeding up unwanted breeding times just add more friends. I’m sure everyone is going crazy for this one right now so they need gems as much as you do. Add me as well.

I breeded the solar eclipse my second time with a level 10 blazing with a level 10 crystal my first try was a silver Olympus ( :
I did not jail break or cheated I forgot to add that and add me on Game Center my name is Dustinzkin and I have the gifting tree.(I don’t no why I keed forgetting but I breeded it in a regular breeding cave I did not upgrade it need some gems)
I just got one 2 days ago with a Blazing (left) and a Obsidian (right)
Now it just started incubating ^^ now I’m going to try my hardest to get a second one!
