How do you know next month’s (tomorrow’s) gemstone dragon is Topaz? Thanks for the news, of course.
Topaz is the birthstone for November. 😉 All the gemstone dragons are birthstones.
Technically Citrine is the original birthstone of November, topaz has been adopted as a secondary birthstone because not many people liked the dark yellow color of citrine and topaz comes in every color of the rainbow including a hue similar to that of citrine. In the past few decades a secondary birthstone has been added to every month to offer an alternative so birthstone gifts would appeal to and be more affordable for more customers. Topaz is also a secondary birthstone for the month of December, the original is the rare Blue Zircon.
Incorrect. Topaz has always been the primary gem for November – it was always the amber version of topaz though – its only been the last few years that the blue version is offered as a secondary. I know because its been my birthstone for the past 47 years and ive disliked it for that entire time lol
i like yellow WAY better than blue… i am uspet that they decided to go with a blue topaz instead of yellow
I saw a topaz that was the color of icd tea and loved it! much prettier than my birthstone – turquiose.
Actually Golden Topaz is the traditional gemstone for November. Citrine is also considered to be one and is often used instead of Golden Topaz because Citrine is less expensive.

That 1912 list had Topaz as the November birthstone. Citrine was added to the “official” list in 1952.

Based on guessing at clues, I’m trying Scorch and Mountain. I have a 48 hr incubation time on something.

Your 48 hour dragon could be a rainbow, sun or moon dragon.
Quake and rain gave me a 19 hour incubation in epic breeding sanctuary… Possible with the 20% reduced timeline?

It’s probably a rainbow or gold dragon. Topaz dragons breeding time is 30 hours.

I wish dragons didn’t cost so many gems. I don’t want to spend money on gems and it’s hard enough getting them as it is because I have only one gem-producing dragon.

Irritated though! November is my birth month and I love that it’s blue for blue topaz… I just think the orange on it looks funny! They should have made it yellow, it’s a much more common color for topaz. Guess I’ll have to see how it looks an an adult.

Just did obsidian and sonic in an upgraded normal cave: 28 hours. (So regular 30?)
I think it would be 27 hours but not sure.
If you have the upgraded breeding caves just take the normal number of hours and multiple by 0.8 to get the reduced hours. ex. 30 X 0.8 = 24 so the reduced time for the 30hr dragon is 24 hours. Simple math!
I couldn’t remember how much the upgrades reduced. Thanks.
Its 24 hrs upgraded Topaz is only thirty hr tho even tho most other gemstones seemed to b 31

that is cool that you associated the poem to the dragon… But, per Wiki, it is available in level 11 so, it can only use Plant, Fire, Earth, cold or lightening for breeding…. as the others are not available at that level.
And most gemstone dragons need hybrid dragons to breed.
Well.. not exactly true since the Sapphire dragon required a Rain + Mountain. And the Rain dragon consists of water + air.

Yeah if the parents are the same type, and especially with pure elements (ex. Fire dragon), you will, without a doubt get the same dragon as the parents. Now stop taking up so much space with your posts.
What on earth are you talking about?
If you’re trying to say that breeding a Topaz + Topaz will give you a Topaz dragon, you’re wrong, because gemstone dragons can’t breed with anything in the first place.
A crystal combo will suck.. with all those fails and crystals for 24hrs..

Typically gem dragons only have one combo that works, this combo does not yield topaz…

obsidian and sonic did give me 28 hours but…. a silver olympus…
can’t be anything with water, air or metal since they are all level 14 and higher, and topaz is level 11

I think it’ll be either Copper/Crystal or Magnetic/Crystal.
Because it is made up of Aluminium (Metal) and Flourine (Light, so I thought Lightning) which is where the Coppet/Magnetic came from and then Crystal because Topaz is a crystal and crystal has been popular amongst Gemstone dragon breeding combinations. Try this combo for me please someone.
METAL are LEVEL 16 dragons while topaz is LEVEL 11, so NO metal…

There has been metal in previous Gemsyone combinations. Ruby was Scorch and Chrome if I remember correctly… so apparently there can be metal.

I’m not saying that is the combo, I have no idea what it is, but it doesn’t have to be 4 elements. Peridot was cactus and crystal- lightening, plant and earth
And Opal was Lava and Mud. That’s only three again: Earth, Fire, Water.
Crystal + Lightning still seems odd, though. Have any of the others only been two elements?
The dragon combination would have to be accesible under lv 11 as that is the level requirement so metal dragons, water dragons wouldn’t be in it
But the Sapphire dragon consisted of Rain + Mountain, and the Rain dragon has air and water elements.

It seems unusually that for a very anticipated dragon with a specific breeding combination they would choose a single element parent.. Have any of the others been non-hybrids? Wouldn’t it change the probability of getting it relative to all the other gemstone dragons?
Someone has claimed Obsidian and Sonic is the combo….That would be a disaster…Olympus, Rainbow…

Azianboiloyalty has been posting this same thing on the Dragonvale facebook page. He has been rude there and I would recommend not listening to him. Historically the gem dragons have only had one possible breeding combination and have always been from 2 multiple element parents. there have not been any coming from a pure parent.

Tried Crystal and Cactus in the Breeding Island….got a 24 hour breeding time…could this be anything else?

To those of you saying it can’t have certain elements because it’s available at level 11…
Level 11 is when you can purchase a gemstone island, which you need to hold your gemstone dragons. Thus, at level 11, gemstone dragons become available for purchase (with gems). They can have any elements, but they are ALL available at level 11 because you can buy them with gems at that point. Just sayin’.
On the dragoncalc app it says that evergreen and sandstorm is the combination so i’m gonna try that and see if it works out.
