The 1st Egg is the DragonVale Topaz Dragon Egg
Just got my 4th topaz dragon. So far – 3 in the EBI and 1 in the EBC. This one will be used as a display egg. I used Firefly on left and Cactus on right every time. The other way around did not work for me and I wasted a lot of gems fast tracking breeding.
How many times did you try before you got the first “Topaz Dragon”? I’ve tried at least 30 times in the EBC (Epic Breeding Cave) and the RBC (Regular Breeding Cave).
It took me only one try on the EBI, but then my Opal dragon last month took like two weeks.
try hatching new cactus and firefly for breeding, cost food to lvl up but usually work for me
For the first 3, I fast tracked breeding approx 10 times each before getting the 24 hour breeding time. The 4th one, I just let them breed without fast tracking till I got the 24 hour breeding time. This also took about 10 tries also before getting the 24 hour breeding time.
My first topaz took 45 trys and happened in the upgraded cave. My second topaz (dragons still breeding) took about 6 more tries and is coming from the epic breeding island.
My next goal is the moon dragon. Does anyone know a good combo? I was using the dragon-calc app, but looking at it lately everything thing now says “may be inaccurate” next to it.
My advice just use a cold and lightning in both the cave and island like I’ve been doing. Only 3 results I can think of are sun,moon or storm(5hrs non-upgraded breeding). Got a 2 day breeding time doin that at like 6 this morning, hoping its a moon then gunna keep doin it til I hopefully get another sun and a 2nd moon(if this one is in fact a moon) in hopes of breeding 2 eclipse dragons when it’s available using my 2 moons and 2 suns if I have them by then. Still have to work on 2 panlongs,2nd gold Olympus, 2 silver Olympus,2 bronze Olympus and more topaz dragons since I only have 2 so far and want to fill island til I can get the other types of gemstones as months go on. Also recently got the tree so ill most likely be posting on main page for gem4gem friends since it seams lately haven’t been getting many from current friends even tho I send EVERYDAY. I play daily and keep an eye open for notifications all day. And sorry for such a long message.
Same here. Switching order worked first try after many unsuccessful tries the other way.

I got it I’m sooooooooooo happy!!!!!! I spent all last month trying for opal and never got it, and now I’ve got topaz!!!!! Hooray! Yes!!! Woooooohooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Soooo happy just put cactus and firefly to breed and another 30 hour breeding time! My 2nd one in the past lik 3 days. Still even have 1st one incubating right now. My birth month must be good luck lol. Hopefully work on getting moon after its done in time for eclipse since already have sun dragon/habitat and moon habitat just need the moon to fill it up.miight keep using one cave for topazs while these 1st 2 work on getting me gems when I fully level them up. Also only need 7more gems for tree then next project is upgrading island and cave for breeding faster.

I got my Topaz dragon with Cactus & Firefly after only 2 tries. Woohoo!
I have ditched 2 friends who have not been sending gems, just receiving them (rude!). I have 2 new vacancies for friends for daily gem swaps. If I don’t reply, the vacancies have been filled, sorry.

Got one in the EPI after a few days of trying. I like this dragon combo a lot better cuz you usually only get 1 or 3 hours incubation/breeding time if you get cactus, flower, firefly, or scorch, instead of the usual 24 h time if you end up with another crystal -.- So it was a lot faster for me especially since I don’t like using gems for this kind of stuff 🙂 Hopefully I’ll be able to breed another one! This was by far the easiest gem dragon to get for me, I got it at the very first time on the very first day! Never happened to me and now I’m getting my second.

He bred two Love Dragons when they where available, and since he has two he can breed them anytime.

Don’t give up…I got mine today at 3:13 pm EST after trying since November 1st! I literally got 16 poisons, 5 scorches, 12 cactuses, 9 fireflys, 3 ashes, and 12 flowers before getting this!! Between me and my son, we pretty much play at all hours of the day…many of our epics were bred as he woke in the morning or as I picked him up from school…between 2 and 4 in the afternoon. Dodo and sandstorm took more work than this one and the only one we still have not gotten is gold Olympus, but we have gotten 3 golds, 2 moons, and 3 bronze olympuses trying…we appreciate all of your help and comments on here and really rely on this site for tips. We hope our experiences can contribute some worth here 🙂
I was beginning to think I was the only one who’s tried this over 50 times with no luck. Happy to hear after all that you finally got it. Will be much happier though when I finally get it. I too try all throughout the day at all times of the day. Will keep trying, wish me luck!
This game is all about probability, no garantie, nothing else. So even if you throw two dices and don’t get x 6’s after 20 throw, theres is still a chance that you actually don’t get it the next 20 times. It works different for everybody.

I know a little bit about the eclipse dragon, it only comes out during an eclipse and the next eclipse is….. Well I don’t know when but that’s all I know

I bred two topaz dragon at the same time. I have two of each cactus and firefly I have one on my gemstone island and the other one on the way 15 more hours though lol…it doesn’t matter how you bred the dragons left cactus right firefly (vice versa) for those who think that it matter its not true!
This combination is legit. Don’t give up and thanks for the help Doc.

You know what’s sad? I’ve had the ebi for 3 months, and I haven’t had any luck on getting a gemstone dragon. It’s sad, really. But I have the blue moon dragon and equinox dragon…….

Emma try breeding a new cactus and a new firefly and keep them on level 12 it’s weird how my level 15 won’t breed it but but my level 13 did. Hope that helps

This dragon is difficult to get for Sure … I was on the sec it came out and started trying right then but nothing I’ve been doing the Firefly/Cactus in epice and Ash/Scorch in normal but nothing ….. Any tips
Hatch your cactus and firefly. Level them up to 10. Use this new generation to breed. It increases your chances of getting rare dragons.
It took me a while to take your advice And put it into action but it didn’t work any other ideas..
*******FINALLY GOT MY TOPAZ DRAGON********** I’ve been trying since November 1st, I’ve wasted countless gems with 27 scorch,13flower,19catus, 22 firefly and 10 ash dragons, I was losing hope. Using a cactus lvl 10 on left and firefly lvl 10 on right the whole time. THE VERY VERY VERY VERY FIRST TIME I SWITCHED THEM IT WORKED I know it’s said that it doesn’t matter but I don’t know now 🙂

This works I tried cactus(right) and firefly (right) that failed so then I switched it around and got the topaz dragon on the 2nd try. Gamcenter- EmoneyECH

Finally! I’ve been doing the Cactus and Firefly combo nonstop every day. FOY on both. I decide to take one of my countless Firefly and Cactus dragons that resulted from the past few days and level them up so I can have one in each cave. And the first time I bred the newly leveled pair (no FOY on either) I get the 30 hour wait. Go figure. It’s going to be a long wait.

YIPPIE.. GOT 3 TOPAZ …. After trying almost a hundred times since the 1st and not until yesterday got my first one then right after that one a second one and today a third one WOW… It really was frustrating me…..it’s a cute dragon

No. I got it after about 8 tries in the NBC.

Don’t give up. I finally got it. Actually two breeding right now, one on EBI and one in cave. Worked on island so decided to try in cave at same time. Happened at 10 am today after almost 80 tries. Good luck to you!
