Gem dragons have contained metal in the past. Ruby for one.

Forgive me but Ruby was available at lvl 17 also, the same lvl metal becomes available hence it being able to be in the combo. Garnet is lvl 14 you can not have metal at lvl 14, so that person is correct no metal this time. 🙂
Definitely something with fire, and even though others say no metal, I’m thinking rust as one of the dragons to breed
Water or air must be some part of it because they become available at level fourteen too.

Might want to try seaweed and obsidian matches the level requirement and they both have characteristics seen in the garnet dragon.
I do realize the look of the dragon usually has nothing to do with it but I just think it might be a good combo to try.

Can’t be scoria. Scoria is a metal. Metal is a higher level than gemstone.
Ruby is bred with Scorch and Chrome. Chrome is metal. Makes no difference what “level” the elements are.
Wow it amazes me how many people play this game but don’t bother finding out the breeding rules that go with it. Level matters and just as you pointed out Ruby is bred with a metal hybrid that is why Ruby is available at lvl 17. The same lvl as metal.
You can not breed a dragon with an element you don’t have access to and as Garnet is available at lvl 14 and you can’t get metal until lvl 17 you can not use metal to breed it.

Just because the Level requirement is 14 that doesn’t mean that Metal can’t be included in it. Level 14 is where you can get the Gemstone Island and you need that to place a gem dragon. That;’s why every gemstone dragon is level 14 requirement.
No, the Gemstone Island is available at lvl 11. Each Gemstone dragon has a lvl it becomes available on e.g. Emerald is 11, Pearl is 14, Ruby is 17, and so on. They become available at the lvl of the highest element in them. (Ruby is 17 because it has metal)
Now Garnet is lvl 14 and at lvl 14 Water and Air elements become available so it must have one of these in the combo, and will not have metal because it is not available at lvl 14.
Yes, it does. If you are level 14, you can get a Garnet dragon with any dragons that you have unlocked so far. As you cannot unlock metal until you are level 17, metal or a metal hybrid CANNOT be used…
Hmmm Thanks for that info. Since I started with Peridot had NO idea about the Emerald and Ruby combos. But if that’s the case then no Metal. Thanks!
judging from the color of the fins and eyes, i would say swamp and seaweed are one piece of the puzzle.
Dragons combos rarely have anything to do with how they look. And gem dragons rarely have anything to o with the gems they are named after, unfortunately.

I have an app that suggests Glacier and Lava. I’ve had very good luck with their suggestions

Just tried crystal and fog on ebi and got a 28 hour breeding time. Could it be?

Hm, it mentions in the description shimmering, I remember that was one of the dragon track catagories. So maybe a lightening is a part of it, also I looked up “Amalthea” or the other name mentioned in the description, she was the mother of Zeus and also a nymph. Maybe nymph = earth or plant?

So I just tried blazing and ash and got a 39 hour breeding time on the ebi. What is that?
Nothing is 39 hours… Unless you are upgraded and approximating in which case it is probably seasonal or rainbow. (I think)

I will be honest and say that until all the “bring them back” dragons disappear, no one is going to have much luck.
i got all of the bring them back dragons. i was missing pretty much all of them necause i just switched to android and had to start over.
This may be the toughest one yet.. I can’t even begin to think what this one is.. Add me gem for gem and I don’t lie like others do just to get a free gem.. I play every day and I got every epic dragon x2 and on display and I have every dragon and there eggs.. Just saying I take this game serious!!.. Lol GC name is the same as my posted name

I also have every dragon egg on display on my Egg Island. Including all of the rare eggs and all of the available regular eggs grouped by category. I also have an Olympic Island that I did up for the Olympics. The others are a little crowded but ai am waiting for a new island so I clasp read some stuff around.

Possibly Firefly and Pollen is what I was thinking. Only because the Pollen and Firefly dragon look the same as the Garnet…

Metal can’t be included if its available at level 14. Think bout it. If you’re only level 14 and it’s available, the combo can’t be anything with metal. For example if it was chrome and scorch, you can’t breed until level 17 cause you can’t get chrome yet. Some of you are idiots. If you think level doesn’t matter, go breed chrome and scorch at level 14. Knock yourselves out, dumbasses.
I thinks it’s like Rain+Blazing, because Rain and garnet have like the same tail:D
After some thought over the text and color of the dragon, I have come up with the conclusion of the Ash and Mud dragons.
If you run out of ideas/tests, please try out this combo. It’s possible it could work.
Obsidian and forge maybe, haven’t tried yet. Obsidian cause of the horns. Forge the colour.
And u can breed the metal dragon on lv 14!!!! But u can’t place it……
