Tried around 30-35 times,keep on getting motly,qiucksilver,mine,ice,steel and 1 platinum dragon
That’s funny, I constantly get Silver and Platinum dragons -.- it’s annoying having to wait 2 days in order to use the breeding island again
I feel your pain …though I have yet to get a platinum, just all of the more common ones you mentioned
I feel the same as you guys I have tried it like 40-50 times since the dragon first came out I have never had this much trouble course I have like 7 different breeds of the stupid gemstone dragons and I still haven’t got it and I have yet to get a platinum and I got one silver and a hell of a lot of the ones that bob mentioned ^_^
Well try upgrading your breeding cave or island
I dont know if this is just me or not, but ive gotten 2 Motley dragons from this combo as well as a silver and platinum dragon.
The motley dragons are confusing though since ice and mine dont have earth or fire in them…
Yeah happened to me
For one, it’s plant + fire, and Motley dragons can be bred with any combination, which pisses me off
Im not getting the diamond dragon either.. Been trying with lvl 15 ice – 15 mine, everyday, several times a day since it Got out, no luck. I really like this Gem dragon and the Egg is so awesome. Its the only one i Need, so imam get a bit disapointed if i dont get it..

Me too! I have upgraded ebi and ebc and am using level 15 dragons! This is so frustrating! I know sometimes on these macenstien threads have another suggestion that works too but it looks like I may not get my diamond dragon. ?
50 tries and nothing but, silver, platinum and a lot of dragons I don’t want, all my gems are gone. So sad.

I’ve been trying since it came out and nothing… Every single damn day.
I have a breeding time of 13 hours. It could be motley, bloom or river dragon ..

I got 2 in 3 tries- level ten ice and mine. Don’t knownow that happened.

I tried like 25 times, still no diamond. I ‘only’ got a motley, 2siilver dragons And a platinum dragon with this combination
wish I could trade someone. Just got my second diamond. If they ever make it possible I’d trade it for a moon.

I was expecting a few more Motleys, got four this month trying for everything else (Bloom, Spring). He’s pretty much the cutest dragon though, so I’m not complaining. :3

Ugh! I’ve just got ANOTHER 38 hour >.<. My fifth one while trying to get the diamond!(2 silver, 2 platinum so far…) I've got all if them but this one and this is by far the hardest to get.
Yeah it sucks.. The Sapphire was just as hard. Didnt get it the Month it was released. The only reason i Got it was because they brought all the dragons back few month ago

I’ve been running both cave and island for nearly 2 weeks now, nothing but junk and platinums. Usually get my gemstone in the first week (this is the last gemstone I need, may be that’s why?). Seems backflip is changing the rules, it’s becoming more frustrating than fun 🙁
Lol needing only this gemstone can’t be the reason because I need more than this one. Frustrating when everyone says I got it using this pairing on the first or few tries and we try and try to no availe.
Now that I got this one I have them all what the heck am I supposed to do now

I’ve tried50 times and still can’t get a gemstone dragon of my birth month! It really isn’t right. I mean I have gotten all iceberg, silver, steel, ice, silver, motley, and still no diamond! I’m using level 10 ice on left and level 10 mine on right. Regular breeding cave. Only four gems but only 6 friends. No dragonsai tree. Advice anyone?
Also I haven’t any gemstone dragons but the island is there.
Just keep trying. Hopefully one day we will luck out.
Still no luck! I’m seeing the same trend that I’m stuck in – 2 Platinums and 2 Silver Dragons for me as well! Too bad they’re just vendor trash to me..

Finally got one!!! Ice (level14) mine (level 13). It was torture. Constantly breeding in both island and enhanced breeding cave. Got it in the regular island not epic.

This dragon hate me. I have yet to get it, I got Plat on the first try and now I can’t get over a 12 hr breeding time. /sigh….
I’m up to 5 silvers now on this pairing alone! Sooooo frustrated because I already had my silver dragons/egg. Now it just clogs up my island/cave and lessens the times I can try for diamond. I lost track of attempts after 35 so I’m bound to be at 50 by now. I’ve spent all my gems and over $500 million for food to upgrade dragons. I’ve gotten multiples of EVERY other outcome possible except for platinum (which i already have) & Diamond. UUGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

FINALLY! Took what felt like forever, but I finally got a Diamond today!
Anyone else not have the diamond dragon as an option to buy in eggs? I still have the aquamarine available. So confused.

Try updating again as I had meteor available but still needed 2 update 2 get diamond in buy option x
I had to delete the dragonvale app and re-install to get it to show up.
Breeding this awesome dragon is not possible.. 18 days days, 200-400 gems wasted.. This is getting on my nerves. I know Im not gonna get this dragon so my only hope is that they bring it back, like they did brought all dragons back in december..

83 failed attempts with ice and mine. Hatched 6 platinum. Only dragon harder than this was Sapphire. Tried all September for that but failed. Then tried the entire extended breeding time, so about 10 weeks. Finally got one the last day. Ugggg
(Sarcasm) I love it how I have bred 9 rainbow dragons and 2 leap year dragons but yet I still have no diamond I poises me off add me gem 4 gem (if I can get to you sorry if I don’t send you that gem when I should cause I think that I have to many friends and the app closes while I’m in the friend list)

Well add me to the list. I am so frustrated. I am using a level 15 ice and level 18 mine. Over 60 tries, nothing. Also, I have a gem tree but no one to trade with. I am on every day and would be glad to trade with someone who will send them to me every day too.
After 30-35 times i finally got this dragon. So Mine and ICE Works.
Finally got it!!! Have been trying everyday since the 1st day of release, and 1 week on both islands. Got it on EBI with lvl 15s…after 2 platinums and silvers.

Finally got a Diamond after much frustration. After getting a Plat, a Silver and so many others in between.
So the Ice Mine combo does work, just takes patience. I seriously thought I wasn’t getting this one.
