The 1st Egg is the Dragonvale Diamond Dragon Egg
I have been trying all month and can not get this damn dragon.
Same here. Still trying to get this dragon but it is so freaking hard… Sigh
Tried at least 30x… and a no diamond.
FINALLY—after 21 attempts—have a Diamond egg bred and incubating.
I also got two Aquamarines (one in the cave, one on the island) on the same day.
Here’s the trend I noticed and have documented:
I got both gemstone dragons (Aquamarine and Diamond) in the last third of the months in which I was attempting them. Also, I successfully bred with the combinations recommended by the iOS application, DragonCalc (Ice lvl 15 and Mine lvl 15), and further noticed that in all cases, the success was in breeding the parent dragon combinations after 10P at night.
I wish I/We could sell or trade dragons. I clearly don’t have a need for two Aquamarine dragons.

Very very true….. after 23 days of trying ice+mine i got it atlast….(am using android version of dragon vale).
its seems to be strange coz..i fif get platinum and diamond after 10 pm.

WOOT! Finally got it after almost two weeks on both epic island and cave. 24 hour breeding time on island 30 hour inc. time. This is definitely the hardest gemstone to breed so far. Good luck everyone! Raising them to lvl 18 MAY have helped. 🙂
Level doesnt matter, regardless of what Dragonvale claims! I’ve used Level 20 dragons all month and NO diamond. And level 20 are supposed to give “greatly increased chances” so if people with less than level 20 dragons are being successful, but I try all month with level 20 ice & mine, then the “level theory” is a lie.
This is definitely the hardest so far. I have been doing both caves many times a day since the beginning of April and no luck. But I did get a lot of platinum dragons. Also the new terradiam dragon is mud and sandstorm. Got it first try.

This is absolutely hopeless. Been trying to breed this dragon since the start of April and still no luck! I’ve raised them to level 15, and so far I’m just getting treasure dragons.

I finally got that damn Diamond Dragon. Now i Got till end of Month to get the egg. Because the Diamond is the most epic one of all.
Best of luck to all you otter guys WHO havent Got it yet. I know how frustrating it is.. I have spend over 300 diamonds myself trying to get it. It paid out 🙂

Ive been trying FOUR TIMES a day since the first and still dont have one!!!!! All FOUR of my dragons are at level 15, both my breeding island and cave are up graded and NOTHING >:( but my husband breeds his level 11’s 3 times and bam he has one!!!!!!!! Im so *!??ed i can barely stand to look at him. What am I doing wrong?!?!?!?!

Hey Lucy. Some dude wrote that he Got the Diamond dragon by breeding Metal and Cold.i tried that combo a few times with no luck. You could try it out, who knows ;p

Gem dragons only have one possible combo. Don’t waste your time trying others.
I got this FIRST TIME on EPI with lvl 10 mine ont the left and lvl 15 ice on the right!
I am so happy I just got it. Also got a silver which I was also trying to get. Add Tyto Alba4. Gems for gems.

I hate this dragon. Hate, hate, hate. I have tried over 100 times. Got 7 platinum and 2 silver. Started playing Dragon City instead!
Got it,first try with ice and mine,all level 10.
3 silvers, 2 platinums. Glad to hear I’m not the only one having trouble with this dragon. It will be the only dragon I won’t have, also the only egg. I’ve bought probably around 5 50 gem packs and also spent all my in game gems. I’m not spending any more on this dragon. Add me (not to trade) Nate E Bug.
Finally got one, upgraded breeding cave lvl 15s. Then I went to try the same pair on EBI and got a second one. Whew close call.

I just bred ice & mine and I have a 39 hour & 10 min breeding time… Any ideas? That’s a really odd breeding time and it’s not listed.
I’ve tried since the 1..april, 4 times a day and just get mine dragons -.- is there another breeding combi? Or just cold and mine?

Ha got it first try level 10 ice and mine on regular breeding island. Tried again and got it so now I have one for decoration
Maybe getting the diamond ring decoration would help? I’m not sure but I know the Ami’Lya pond helped to get the river dragon :/

After everyday breeding, 4 silver and lots of steel dragons later, I upgraded both my dragons to level 15 and got one first try with the upgraded levels on the breeding island. Finallllllyyyyyyy!
Can anyone explain why or how some get it on the first try and others not at all? Just trying to understand who would make a game with so much inconsistency.
Imagine a spinning wheel like wheel of fortune. Lots of common dragons on the wheel and then just a couple of spaces for rares. In this case 3 different rare dragon spots. Someone might spin the wheel and by luck land on the diamond dragon the first try. Most of us will have to spin many times to land on a rare. It might not be the rare you even wanted… Hope that helps a bit

Just got 47 breeding time 🙁 another silver D: god I have been trying all month and I want this one most of all because its my gemstone dragon for my birthday… I have all my dragons at Lviv 7 maybe I should make them 10?
Somehow I’ve bred three of these this month. Ice and mine is definite. I tried last month for the gem dragon and had NO luck. Summoned the gem island and soon enough I was popping out diamonds. I know they say it doesn’t increase your chances, but it definitely helped me. Keep trying- it is possible! I definitely thought it just wasn’t going to happen for me but after buying the island I started getting the dragons. Look at it this way: you’ll need it if you get the dragons and it looks pretty freakin cool anyway. Good luck guys!!

One of the “loading notes” says that “using 2 level 20 dragons greatly increases the chances of getting a rare dragon”…WHAT A LOAD OF HOOOOEY!!! I can tell you, it makes NO difference whatsoever. A big lie, so dont bother trying to fatten them up to Lvl 20!
I got the Diamond dragon after 5 tries
I’ve tried for this dragon all month and got nothing of any interest. Only mine and ice dragons. Its making me not want to play this anymore…
FINALLY got a 30hr. breeding time in EBI after try 25465858585!! geez this better be a diamond! Ive gotten 3 silvers and like 15 quicksilvers :/

Tired all month and nothing. I tired for all the special dragons this month and nothing. I guess level 10 dragons are useless. What a let down.
I’ve tried 4 times a day every day all month. The best I’ve gotten is a 2 day egg with 24 hours left before I can incubate it.
I got one finally after about 40 tries with ice and mine, both level 10.
How do you add people? I’m on android
I will share gems but I’m not on iPhone, so haven’t got game centre, its logged in through facebook so not sure how to add people
