Conceited Software launches Clips, and we got 5 free copies! Who wants one?
[WE HAVE OUR WINNERS! CONGRATS TO: Jonathan, Kelsey, Adam, Kaupo, and Courtney]
If there’s one thing we know about our readers, it’s that you are a bunch of grubby degenerates, ravenous for free stuff. Well, never let it be said that Macenstein does not cater to our audience!
Conceited Software just launched Clips, their new super cool clipboard app, and to celebrate, they gave us 5 free copies to give away. “Super cool CLIPBOARD app?”, you ask. Yeah, we were surprised too, but after playing with it a bit, we stand by those adjectives.
Clips takes the idea of the Clipboard and applies virtually every cool aspect of Leopard to it. Spaces, Dashboard, Time Machine… it’s pretty insane. Clips lets you flag clips (like flagging Mail messages), supports live search and drag and drop, and even allows for sharing clipboards between multiple computers. You sort of have to see it in action to appreciate it, which is why you should check out this movie Conceited Software made showcasing some of the eye candy Clips is capable of (or better yet, download their free trial and take it for a spin yourself).
So how do you win a copy?
Well, knowing how sadistic we can be with our contests, Conceited Software left it up to us to decide how to choose our 5 winners. Therefore, in order to win you will have to decipher a series of increasingly harder riddles that when pieced together…
….aww hell, just leave us a comment and we’ll pick 5 random winners. Be sure to include your e-mail address. Good luck. (Contest ends Sunday night at midnight PST – 1 entry per person Γ’β¬β yes, we’ll check).
Yay for free stuff!
Can I still win if I don’t have a mac yet? Come on October 15th!!!
Interesting concept – I’d love to give it a try
I’m random!
I want one. I really want to win a contest some time in my life.
I will get in line for the free stuff. Keep up the good work!
Im in cant hurt can it.
insert random comment here for my zero chance of win…
What an awesome looking utility.

I’d take one. Looks pretty cool.

Here’s putting a chance on random! Go lady luck!
I want it too!
Looks nice, although a little flashy for what it does…
would love to get a copy for free π
I don’t want to win, don’t pick me.
This looks really cool. It’s amazing how Mac developers get right into the UI and try to make it look like that of the Mac OS, while PC developers try to make their own UI and color scheme to make their software unique.
just give’m away and get to posting a mid month mac chick.
you know i want it
If you choke a smurf, what color does it turn?
(Hopefully that made you think enough to make me stand out and bias your ‘random’ decision.)
I’ve deciphered all the riddles but forgotten all the answers. Clips probably could help me retrieve the cuttings and pastings that went into their solution. Or doesn’t it work for clipboards from before it’s installed? May I give it a try, please?
Okay, that looks pretty cool.
Yo quiero una copia… I want one…. je veux un…eu quero um
I’m random too…
I can haz Clips?
I’m downloading the trial now. Looks pretty sweet.
you know i need it
This looks like the poo! Me want!
I just got a 24inch Imac and the screen is absolutely beautiful. Clips looks like it would be a fantastic addition to an already incredible display.
Looks very cool. If I don’t win a copy I’ll probably buy it.
Forget those random posers above, I’m the most randomest guy around. It’s true, just ask the first person you see on the street … they’ll confirm it.
Looks pretty cool.
Comment.
Looks good. I’d like a copy.
It really is super cool!
Sweet… come on just this once doc? Ok… and maybe a few times after but this can be a start… π
Sounds cool. Count me in.
I’d love one!
Oooh oooh pick me!
Her damit. Kommt schon ich bin zufΓΒ€llig.
Oooh oooh oooh pick me pick me!! π
Let me win, pleeeease, I never win anything!!!
From what I can tell so far, Clips is a beautiful tool in the finest Mac tradition. On the surface, it provides a basic improvement to an aspect of our digital life that we use every day. Not content to do it in a purely utilitarian way, it wraps the experience in slick animations that help new users to understand what it does, and hint at additional power hidden just a click away. It works well for both mouse- and keyboard-centric users (not to mention artists that work with a pen and tablet!), and it gets better the more you use it and discover its advanced capabilities. Like Quicksilver, I could see this becoming one of the must-have apps that I will install on every Mac that I sit down to use for the first time.
Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
