Celebrity Mac President Sighting: Barack Obama

OK, let me just say that while I consider the fact that Obama uses a Mac to be great news, perhaps even up there with Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton both being Mac users, and I appreciate all 700 of you for sending in the various links, I’m afraid I also consider it to be OLD news, which is why I held off on publishing it. Back in March we learned that Barack used iChat on his MacBook to talk to his kids while we has on the campaign trail. We saw Mac Goodness all over his website, and we spotted him with an iPhone.

Still, I suppose now that he has officially won the election, it is a little more exciting, and I guess these new Obama Mac pictures that are showing up are worth noting (he also appears to be a PAC-Man fan).

Above: Yes, Obama is a Mac, and McCain is an IBM 704 running Fortran.

So there you go. You can all stop telling me to write about it. Thanks to faithful Macenstein readers Chris, John, Mike, Jacob, Art, Kelly, Nicolas, Matt, Laura, Steph, and Sean for the links.

Looks photoshoped you can tell because the lighiting on his face is not consistat with the rest of his body

  2. Kyle says:

Nice! Where can I get that Pac-Man sticker?

  3. Xeno says:

I wanna see a Bush and Obama ‘Hi Im a Mac and I’m a PC ad’

  4. Scott says:

Doesn’t look photoshop-ed to me. There is one light off camera in the top right corner (that’s the lighting on the right side of his his head). The more bluish/white light on the left side (his left, viewer right) side of his face is probably from the laptop itself.

He hasn’t been officially elected. That doesn’t happen until the Electoral College meets in D.C. around the first week in December to cast their binding votes….then he’s official.

  6. dizzy says:

The electoral college is one of the most ridiculous things about the US government

  7. Jason says:

And would you like to explain why it’s ridiculous and how your plan is better than the constitution?

  8. dizzy says:

    @Jason
No, not really, but I willl…

Because it’s something that was useful a long long time ago, but now we have the means and technology to just use a popular vote. This would fix the problem of all the wasted votes. For example If you live an California and are a republican (for whatever reason) your vote basically means nothing.

Luckily (or unluckily) for me I live in Florida so my vote meant something.

Anyway, I hate mostly hate politics and will stick to being a web developer / programmer.

    Bush uses a Mac, too.

Well, I was one of those 700 and I have been encouraging you to post something about Obama for some time. Not only is he our first Mac president, he is truly our first “tech” president. In fact, recent articles site the importance of how he used tech to win the election. The man had an iPhone app for crying out loud. You missed out. You should have jumped all over this some time ago.

  11. Pierre B says:

Karl Rove is also a Mac User (Mac Book Air). Mac’s are probably the only that Karl Rove and Barrack Obama would agree on.

  12. chad says:

doesn’t look like Obama. Does look like big brother. Don’t point at me

  13. The MacDaddy says:

Other than the fact that he’s a soft-core Communist, yeah it’s cool that he’s using a Mac.

  14. peelman says:

As a fellow ‘berry user, I was proud to see that the President-Elect was carrying a Blackberry on election night:

I would make a quip about true push email at this point, but I’ll hold off 🙂

    McCain? More like a Dictapone.
