Chinese company releases Apple’s netbook for them
We Apple fanboys are used to pointing accusing fingers towards PC offerings that bear a striking similarity to Apple’s own. And as blatant as many of these “homages” to Apple’s design may be, for the most part these companies have been content to leave the theft at design cues and materials. However, in the wild west that IS Shenzhen, China, all bets are off. Behold the new WF188.
Yeah, that’s an Apple logo.
“10 inches LED display, a resolution of 1024 × 576. With the VIA Nano processor, GHz to 1.3GHz, with the VIA VX855 chipset. Supporting a maximum 2GB of memory, with 2.5-inch 40GB to 160GB capacity hard drives, solid-state hard drive can also choose to 16GB/32GB/64GB with SD / SDHC / MMC card slot, etc., and USB / VGA / headphone and other interfaces.
WF188… can be configured Windows XP Home or Linux systems. Bluetooth, 802.11b / g wireless card, can support 3.5G HSDPA network. 3 to provide the core or core-6 lithium-ion battery.”
I actually don’t blame them for stealing Apple’s logo – after all, Steve Ballmer’s spilled the beans that putting that logo on your machine adds an extra $500 to the price. In this tough economy, a company would be stupid NOT to use Apple’s logo.
Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader Finn for the tip!

Looks just like an Apple (NOT!)
What a piece of S*IT. Is ANYONE going to buy this? Especially as an “Apple” product?
The fact that you chan choose “Win XP or Linux” ought to be a dead giveaway.
Should be the WTF 188
The first thing I noticed was that the Apple logo is backwards. I don’t know if this is one of those production errors you hear about sometimes, or if the Chinese figure it isn’t trademark infringement if the logo is backwards.
