Set Phasers to “suck”

Engadget has come across what it believes to be pictures of the upcoming “Zune HD”, a touch screen version of the Zune presumably meant to combat the iPod touch.

Microsoft really captured lightning in a bottle with the first Zune, but can lightning strike twice?

It’s too early to tell if the Zune HD will come close to capturing the magic of the original Zune, but if it sells even HALF as well as the first generation Zune, well, then…. it will have really horrible sales.

This is awesome! is that a brushed aluminum unibody and does Anyone has an idea how (none)thin it is? But the biggest question – will there be another popular brown version?

Put a shiny black Apple logo on it and it’s a total iMac rip-off… btw…it looks to have a pretty big display, I bet it will have twice the iPhone/iPod touch display resolution 🙁

  3. Nah, it’s a mix of the iPod touch and the new iPod shuffle! It’s only s big as yout thumb, don’t worry!

    The logo is Escheriffic.

Actually, that’s the new SurfaceHD, twice the size, four times the price.

  7. Marcus says:

Wow… you mean the zune still exists? Last I heard it reset itself or something on December 31st, little late for a y2k style bug but that’s what you get with an MS product.

  8. Smorgasbord says:

If Microsoft’s record of consistency is consistent the Zune will start showing its bugs shortly after the first customer starts using it. They might not be good at making good products, but they are consistent at being consistent. Consistent: Unchanging in achievement or effect over a period of time. They certainly EARNED that definition!!!
