Google TV remote redefines “Fugly”

For years I’ve been hearing how Sony is the closest thing to Apple that the “PC”-world has to offer in terms of a consumer electronics company which has a respect for beautiful, well thought-out hardware design. Well, I think it might be time to reopen the floor to voting after seeing this Google TV remote they came up with. Seriously, I think you would need THREE hands to operate this thing.

If this was a supplemental remote to a slim, simple, 95%-of-the-time remote, I can see where it might appeal to heavy users of the keyboard. You could crochet a nice cozy for it so it doesn’t frighten the cat.

It looks like it draws from some of Sony’s earlier high-end remotes (X000 model numbers).

Logitech’s Google remote is even better — closer to full size keyboard with extras. The optional mini controller (similar to this sony model) is an additional $125.

    Go Google!
