WearaBraille virtual wireless Braille keyboard demoed with an iPhone and VoiceOver
As a sighted person, I find it truly inspiring when I see a blind person get through their day, seemingly easier than I do. For me, the thought of taking the bus into the city with perfect eyesight is hard enough to comprehend, let alone without the use of my eyes. Truly, the human brain has shown an amazing capacity to adapt, as well as to innovate. Case in point, the WearaBraille keyboard, shown below, created by Dr. Joshua Miele. Even after watching this video, I’m not sure I understand what the hell he’s doing exactly, and the apparent need to bring a table with you wherever you go for “tapping” might make this a little hard to use out in the streets, but still, he apparently is able to navigate through an iPhone, look up stuff, and get his iPhone to give him results via VoiceOver. Impressive stuff.
Phenomenal. Human ingenuity never ceases to amaze.

Actually, you don’t need to bring a table with you wherever you go — With this tech you can type Braille on any relatively firm surface: a book, your belt, a wall, or even your thigh. One of the cool things is that you don’t even need to use horizontal surfaces — it’s just the tap itself that matters.
When is this gonna be available,and for how much? My friend recently lost his eye sight and is going to school in Albany California (bay area) and he asked me to see when its coming out.
