DragonVale: How to breed a Pearl Dragon
[EDIT: Looks like the “rare” Pearl Dragon egg seen below is actually the newly updated Pearl Dragon egg, so the original egg might actually turn out to be the “rare” one you can no longer get. Not sure why BackFlip Studios changed it midway through, but it looks like the Pearl Egg with the Pearl in it is the new egg]
PEARL DRAGON:
INCUBATION TIME: 30 Hours
BUY-IT Price: 1,475 GEMS
HOW TO BREED: Snow and Seaweed (Seasonal – can only be bred in the Month of June)
Interesting Fact: The Pearl Dragon is the only dragon I have seen so far that has TWO different types of eggs (scroll down). The hatched Pearl Dragons appear identical, however, so I am not sure the reason behind the difference.

The Pearl Dragon egg apparently comes in TWO varieties (Egg 4 is the alternate egg). The dragons seem the same though.

Try getting lvl 11 dragon or lvl 16 dragon
You need at lest level 11 snow and seaweed dragon to breed pearl

i get a pearl. i just find out that for gem dragon, the level doesn’t matter. i breed snow+seaweed both level 15 on ebi nonstop and get nothing but fail. give up and try another pair level 10 and get the pearl right away.

I had a somewhat bizarre experience playing this morning, but in a good way. First I put Mistletoe & Gift in my cave to try for a display egg of either or Reindeer during the mini winter bring em back event. I got a Rainbow instead! – which is cool, since I need a display egg for that, too. Then I hit Retry with Snow & Seaweed on my island, trying for Pearl, obviously – and got the Reindeer! Used some gems to skip the breeding time, hit Retry again and got my Pearl. All kinds of goodies abounding on Dragonvale today. 🙂
Advice for anyone who tries all month for a gem dragon and still can’t get it: Don’t give up on leveling up your dragons – it really does help. Amethyst, Emerald, and Pearl seemed particularly tough to me – I got all three after leveling my breeding pairs up to Level 17 – that’s a lot of food, but it’s worth it. ALSO: Do NOT breed when your visitors are low. The more visitors you have, the better chance you have of getting rare dragons. I have noticed that immediately after collecting from all my habitats at once and gaining a massive amount of gold, my visitors plummet by about 50%. If this happens to you, wait a few minutes until the number of visitors climbs back up to near peak – for me, with 8 islands, that’s in the 130-150 range. Hope this helps somebody. 🙂

Thank you. First actual breeding strategy I’ve come across for this game. I wonder if there is a post somewhere about the best use of the rewards we got that allow you to change the time of day/season/weather etc.
It also helps put down paths. The visitors love them. I went from 60 to 150/70.

i did both lvl 12 snow and seaweed on the breeding island and got five hours, hope nxt time will be better

Should I try leveling up both snow and seaweed dragons or can I just level up one of them? I now have two of both dragons. I using both breeding caves! All I have been getting so far is 6 hour dragons. 🙁

I leveled mine up to level 13 after trying them at level 10 for so long. After I leveled them to 13 I just got a 30 hour timer.

i’v tried so many times with snow and seaweed nonstop and all i get is complete, unsatisfactory FAIL. they are lvl 12, does anyone have any hints to help me?

Maybe u should try different gemstone dragons and u will get them….

I tried swamp and snow and got nothing. The very first time I tried snow and seaweed I got this dragon. I highly suggest doing the snow/seaweed combo after trying the other about 5 times. It really works!

No way, what combo? Not gonna lie, I’ve been trying to get a few dragons that I shouldn’t be able to get this time a year. I keep seeing new dragons that I want but in order to breed them, I have to have another dragon that I don’t have and can’t get right now and it’s quite upsetting.
Guys, it took me only 2 tries with a level 14 seaweed and a lvl 14 snow!!!
I recommend you try this out man!!
Perhaps get your dragons to lvl 16 so the change is “better”!!
P.s. I did it in the normal breeding cave so it doesnt matter!!
Umm so idk how this happened but I breeder the seaweed and snow dragon together trying to get the pearl dragon, so the elements there are plant, water, cold and air; but I ended up getting a Crystal?!??! The elements of the crystal are earth and lightning so that doesn’t make any sense?!??!!? Does anyone know why this happened????

This is such bullsh*t…. I’ve been trying for the pearl dragon as well as the solstice dragon for nearly 2 weeks now… I’m constant hitting “retry” over n over again but to no avail… for the solstice I’m using blazing(lvl12) n obsidian (lvl14) and I keep getting dragons I already have and I know I’ve cycled through all the possible outcomes atleast 3 or 4 times this is really pissing me off… n don’t even get me started on this dam pearl dragon that I’ve been trying for almost the whole month to get. I understand these dragons are suppose to be rare n hard to get but this is ridiculous and only pisses me off more when I see comments like “I got it first try”,, and “I bred so n so with what’s his face and got it on accident”…. I don’t know what I’m doin wrong but I should have gotten it by now considering I’ve gotten every possible outcome multiple times…. I’m going to b highly upset if I have tried for this dragon for a WHOLE F**KN MONTH; only to get screwed by the deadline???
It’s a game, it doesn’t really affect your real life. That being said it’s a matter of LUCK !! I have 2 separate parks with 3 separate breeding caves, I breed this combination around the clock, just hitting the retry button, yes some people get very lucky and get it on the first or second try,I did with my Emerald one but sometimes you just don’t get one. I wouldn’t give up just yet. The month isn’t over. I’ve gotten a couple of double rainbows, 1 rainbow, several bronze. You just take what you get and hit the retry button. If you get it then yeah cool, wow if you don’t there is always the bring it back events or next year. RELAX and enjoy the game.
I got this with a Level 13 Seaweed and a level 13 Snow on my first try. I know this is a hard dragon to get, so I don’t want to sound like I’m bragging but I hope it helps somebody. Thank you for reading and good luck!
I just got it with lvl 16 Snow and lvl 16 Seaweed in the Epic Breeding Sactuary. It is WORTH IT to level up your dragons, especially for rare breeds like this, trust me! I got it after about 8-10 tries.
Don’t give up just yet if you haven’t gotten it! You could be just one breeding attempt away from getting it. Good luck y’all!
