i tried for over 2 weeks different combinations of mud and lava both level 10 trying for a rainbow and opal and after many frustrating days I got the opal dragon 31 hours my first gemstone! woohoo. still trying for rainbow. any suggestions?
Try seaweed and firefly worked great for me first ten tries
Got mine with a Bluefire and Crystal on the 1st try (both are lvl 10)
I got. Sun dragon that way :/
I still haven’t gotten an opal dragon and have been trying since october 1st! I couldn’t get the sapphire last month either I did however just manage to get the rainbow by breeding a bone dragon and a rain dragon on my second or third try. add me on Game Center 🙂 (danixox)

u can still breed them will 2 of any expired dragon
I agree. I have bred limited time dragons because they usually make money faster. But you always get one of what u breed.

I got the opal two times in a row breeding mud on left and lava on right. This is however after probably 10 times trying.
I got three opal dragons off of the level 15 lava Dragon and level 10 mud Dragon I also have two sapphire dragons and three Ruby Dragons I Just can’t get the seasonal Dragon and I have tried about a hundred times

I have two opal dragons, lava + mud worked but it took forever. Anyway nickname is CaptainCakeEater add me and stuffs.
I cannot get this one! But I now have 6 bone dragons using the mud/lava combo.
For those of you that were successful in getting the OPAL dragon, did you breed it at a specific time of day? I’m just asking because I remember I got the Ruby dragon by breeding it at specifically 6:30 pm. I am having no success what so ever with breeding the Opal dragon, I’m strictly getting 6 and 10 hour incubation times, which is obviously mud and lava… I’m either a volcanic carpet or just have bad luck (see what I did there, because mud dragons like carpet…) anyways I also noticed a lot of people are getting this dragon on the Epic breeding island or upgraded cave and this worries me, seeing as I don’t have either besides the simple breeding cave, those of you who can answer my questions I much appreciate it.
To ChelseaK if it help I breed mine in the morning, IBC lava/mud I got bone also on that combo. I’m my third opal. It’s my birthstone. If I get #4 I’ll display the egg?
How do u get opal is there another way????
Just got the Opal Dragon by switching with Mud+Lava and Lava+Mud, it took awhile but at least I got the Bone Dragon in one of the tries!

Just got two opal dragons this morning. Bred lava 10 on left & mud 10 on right. Did them one right after each other. Mine was on epic breeding island. My daughters was in regular breeding cave.

Got my third Opal to display, and all the Bone dragons I need in the process.
Been trying all month twice a day lava nd mud and a few times the other way round and i still havent got it!
Getting rather anoying using upgraded epic breeding habitat any sugestions?
Just keep trying. The farther into the month you get, the better chance you have: I tried rain and mountain all september and finnally got it on the last day! It felt great! Don’t give up, that’s the best advice
I got my 3rd opal ready to hatch in 5 hrs. N I got opal #4 for my grandson this morning . I breed all of them in the morning. Lava/mud.

I can’t get freaking opal I tried so many times someone help D;
I have been trying since the day it came out, just keep trying. I just got it. It’s definitely lava and mud. I used lava level 10 on the left, mud level 10 on the right, EBI. It will work, don’t give up yet!

I can’t get it either! I try all day long every day since the first day of the month! Lava-mud, mud-lava level 10,11,12,13,14,15 dragons breeding cave, breeding island!!! And to everyone that keeps saying don’t give up, I’m not giving up ” duh”!! The months just gonna end and us people that are having a hard time are going to be opal-less!!!! So frigging frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!:/

I admit, that like, at first I thought that it was impossible too, but I just got an opal dragon, on my events try, remember, patience is a virtue
